  1. Make your prediction for which Brewer will cost us runs on defense next inning.
  2. Starting to feel like: Brewers are to Twins as Pirates are to Brewers
  3. Wood blows another save. This is officially his third most productive year for the Cubs.
  4. Fukudome on third with one out. Can someone put the Cubs away?????
  5. 10 Game hitting streak for Hart. I miss Jim Powell referring to players as "white hot."
  6. Look at the bright side; slugfests are fun to watch. If we had great pitching and no hitting.....well.....this is just my opinion.
  7. Thanks for that gift, Tigers. Bush was getting shelled and they tried to get cute.
  8. Bush said earlier this week, "I'm not at all superstitous. The beard was just too hot." At least that's what he wants others to think.
  9. Living down south, and getting the mlb package and Astro home games on TV, I hate it when the Brewers are on Fox because those are the only games I can't see.
  10. That was weird. The lineup was wrong on Yahoo, ESPN, and MLB, but now it's changed back to Hart. I didn't think that could be right, playing Hall in right. Just odd.
  11. Both Yahoo Sports and ESPN say that Hart is sitting while Bill Hall is batting 5th and playing RF. That has to be wrong, right???????????? Edit: mlb.com also has Hall batting 5th in RF.
  12. A year ago I would have been there, but- damn my eyes- from Austin is a bit too far of a drive. Wish it would have happened last year.
  13. I was sure, but had to look it up, that there was a song called "I kissed a girl" that was sung by a girl over a decade ago. Sure enough, Jill Sobule. We're even to the point where we're recycling bad ideas. I don't really even bother ranking horrible songs that are so obviously horrible. They're all the same to me, and rank in a tie for last. It's songs that people give way too much undeserved respect to that I put in my "God Awful" category. Culprit #1= Paul Simon's 50 Ways to Leave Your Lover.
  14. I personally think Tony Gwynn would have had a better shot to hit .400 in the strike shortened year (had it not be shortened) than Mauer does this year. I think those hitters will the real short/swatting swings, like Gwynn or Ichiro, are the types of guys who can really have a shot. I remember the Olerud watch during his big year. Everyone was really exited, and then he steadily decreased and people forgot about it. The law of averages say it won't happen. I would love it if he did, but I would bet every penny of mine against it (with "not enough at bats" as a push).
  15. I want him to stay. Why? Because I think he can help. The Hurricane looked horrible to me when he was up (I know. The "eye test" means jack to everyone here, but it' my post and, therefore, my opinion), but Gamel doesn't look bad to me. He just needs to settle in. The plane is always bumpy on takeoff, but it settles down once it gets in the air. He may be the future , but I think the future is now and I feel more confident with his bat in the lineup.
  16. I know I am probably alone, but I'd really like to see how Difelice would handle a starting gig. But yeah, basically we have to choose from a hodge podge of in house crew or trade. Bedard's injury bummed me out, because that may well have gone out the window. Otherwise, we'll just have to outmash other teams.
  17. Why the need to call it Yostian. It is an MLB manager thing. Save situation=closer. That's how managers manage. I am still surprised by how many people thought a closer would be used differently because we changed managers.Well said. My point exactly.
  18. I really don't think that what Macha did was all that bad. It was a choice he made to go with the guy who is perfect in save situations and has only allowed runs in one appearance. So it backfired. That will happen. He's 100x better than Yost and no one can tell me otherwise.
  19. I don't think the package matters. I just put the cursor on the Audio/Video option at mlb.com. Then, when the options pop up, I click on watch mlb.tv, and it gives me the option for the home tv crew or the road crew. You might already have to be logged on to get these options. I usually just click the TV icon and sign in, and then if it's not FSWis crew, I switch it.
  20. Just curious if you're watching on the mlb package. I only ask cause I just realized the other day that you can choose whose broadcast you get. So after a year of listening to whatever broadcast I got, I finally can hear MY guys. Maybe everyone already knew this and I'm just the lone idiot.
  21. I'm curious why I keep seeing Tony Migliaccio on the bench every night. Do we take him on the road as some sort of reward? The visitor's clubhouse has its own attendants and all I see him doing is sit on the top step with a jacket on. Does he just help the team set up when they get to town and pack when they leave while relaxing in between?
