  1. The thought of "brand loyalty" has always made me laugh. I don't look to a beer company for integrity. They're a beer company for pete's sake. I pledge allegiance to none of them.
  2. I was depressed that the Crew did not see what they had in Scutaro. They had a cheap utility guy and let him go for nothing. I completely agree. He is a model for what you look for in a solid utility infielder.
  3. I know we did in '82 with Coop, Robin, Bengie, and Rollie.
  4. Aaron Rodgers is a ringer for ZachJack. Braun doesn't compete in that contest. http://milwaukee.brewers.mlb.com/images/players/mugshot/ph_435638.jpg http://fantasyfootball.com.ismmedia.com/ISM3/std-content/repos/Top/Team/Players/aaronrodgers.jpg
  5. I'm stunned Renteria, Hanley Ramirez, and Rollins were all shut out. Fuentes is unworthy, especially considering Holliday is already in. Should have been Chris Young.
  6. Just saw a film with the title "A Player to Be Named Later" about the Brewers' 2001 AAA team in Indianapolis. Was curious if anyone else had seen it. It features players like Kyle Peterson, Allen Levrault, Micah Franklin, and Marco Scutaro (who I am stunned the Brewers decided to release). It was a pretty interesting watch, including seeing Alex Sanchez being told he was being sent up to the Brewers (his indifference and apathy seemed to confirm most rumors about his work ethic). Just a random film my brother found at the video store, but worth a look if only for interest of the Brewers of the past.
  7. That strike three to Braun kills me. Horrible call. Oh well. At least it didn't affect the outcome.
  8. That one hurt. Two seeing eye ground balls. One out away. Ugh. That strike three on Braun is going to have me peeved until tomorrow's game.
  9. I automatically trust what Filthy Frog says because he has a Godspeed! You Black Emperor icon. No sarcasm whatsoever.
  10. Per MLB.COM, Prince now lead by over 255,000 votes. Way to go Milwaukee!!!!!!!!!! Are you serious? I'm stunned. Happily stunned, yet stunned all the same.
  11. Portions of this thread reek of viral marketing. Anyone here in kahootz?
  12. I'm not a big vent thread guy, but I thought the vent thread was a place where people could post frustrations without the "why are you complaining?" responses.
  13. Does anyone own the Elias Sports Bureau record book? Just wondering if it is as valuable as I figured it would be.
  14. If there is any opportunity to get on a hot streak, it is this stretch before the All-Star game. 11-8 sounds good, but I would actually hope for better.
  15. Hey! My Rage rumor that I posted came true! (I was convinced that I was wrong when people said it wasn't true because Dave Matthews was playing the next two nights)
  16. Am I the only one who is surprised that the Brewers getting no hit didn't come during a Sheets start?
  17. If we got one hit, I would forget about this game in a week or two. Now I will never forget it the way that friends from Minnesota have rubbed the name "Scott Erickson" in my face for 13 years. A loss is fine, I'll forget about. A loss I'll never forget is much worse.
  18. followed by saying..I'm not buying the idea that SOME think it's a good idea to fire him. That's not what you said. Your very next post said "You" (as in me) not "some people". The way you said it above is fine. The way you said it in your original post and its sequel made it seem as though my question was a statement that must be refuted, therefore I tried to show that wasn't my intention. My point on the Molitor quote was that it was in direct opposition to peoples' thoughts that managers don't make a difference. Not that I had a guy with world series assurance sitting in my back pocket.
  19. Ummm..You asked it. I said I'm not buying it. Asking it, suggesting it, whatever you want to call it...I'm not agreeing with it. Yeah, asked it. If I ask "Do you like the color blue?" do you answer "I'm not buying it" ? I asked why Ned should be manager because I wanted to hear some answers instead of just "don't blame Ned." I get it....don't ask questions, right? Just wave the banner and shut my mouth. Why have discourse on a message board? Just make declaratives. Don't ask. Who's our Harvey Kuehn? Who are we going to axe yost for that will get us to the World Series? Seriously. Don't know. I said it got me to ASK the question, not state some authoritative answer.
  20. If the Brewers had 12 hits and no runs I'd be more embarrassed. Really? I wouldn't. A team filled with my talent could not get 12 hits. A team with my talent could get no hits.
  21. Sorry I'm not buying it. Buying what? I asked a question, I didn't make a declarative. It was something Molitor once said in an interview that makes me ask these questions: "Honestly, if we had never replaced Buck with Harvey Kuenn we would never have sniffed that world series."
  22. Do you think most of these attacks are coming from fair-weather fans? Fans who just started to follow the Brewers when they started winning? it's mid-june and the Brewers are in first place. Considering most years they are in the cellar, I'm still enjoying my first place Brewers. On the contrary. Fair-weather fans can walk away when the ship starts sinking. I can't. Yes, I want to see a postseason and it sends me into a tizzy to see the ship start to sink the way it has been with a major creshendo coming tonight. I'm white-knuckling it, saying this can't be happening the way every non-Brewer fan said it would when we were 24-10. I want to stay in first place.
  23. Everone is saying why not to fire Yost ("everyone is unfairly blaming Yost"), but I want to hear a suggestion of why he SHOULD be manager. I think he has had one winning record in his years as a Major League and Minor League manager. I'm really open to suggestions (no joke). What is the reason that he should be our manager? Why him over anyone else? "it's not really his fault" is not a real answer because you could say that about many people who would be manager. Why Ned Yost?
  24. Braun had a sore wrist. Should we fire Yost and hire a manager with special healing powers? This is so ironic. I have been accused of being a Yost backer to a fault by people on this site. Our two worst hitters (IMO) batted 1-2. Period.
