  1. Coco for two innings. I'm only half-kidding.
  2. I walk Prince. Johnny hit me. http://wetmen.provocateuse.com/images/photos/fabio_01.jpg
  3. Insurance run before pitcher spot bats = keep him No run= Bullpen
  4. They double switched so he's in the game now. Oh. Gulp.
  5. Anyone know who the Brewers have warming up?
  6. Anyone else happy that Ruiz is getting the day off?
  7. Benny remembers how the strikeout works. I love it, but this is probably his last inning at 97 pitches, barring an insurance run.
  8. I don't know if anyone in state can get the game on tv (mlb.com blocked it out on my computer), but it sounds like he's got his great stuff.
  9. Dang it. He hit the crap out of that one.
  10. The Brewers will lose this game 3-2. Book it. I dig the chuck crim screen name, but is there any way I can give you a confidence boost?
  11. Yeah but Gwynn has screwed up that bunt attempt several times too. Well, I don't expect it to be 100% successful. Yeah, BrewCrewin2004, it can be lonely when dissenting against the board. I've been on both the popular and unpopular side of issues, but I guess I just wanted people to say "I disagree because...." instead of stating he's a fluke and (my paraphrasing) "You hate Gross."
  12. Oh, and did I mention I like that TGJ is a bunt basehit threat?
  13. My problem is that when I lobby for TGJ people speak in absolutes about the future. He can't do it. How do you know that? He's a fluke. We can't know that yet. It's a small sample. But it will stay a small sample if he doesn't get a chance. Why do you hate Gross? I don't hate Gross. I just think we could give Gwynn a shot. Why do you hate Weeks? I don't. I like Rickie. But he can hit 6 or 7 till he gets some confidence. You think Gwynn will work out in the lineup? I don't know, but I can't know until he gets a chance.
  14. Scotty Po was a major exception. A minor league FA who had 26 career MLB AB's before signing with the Brewers at age 27? ......who was given a chance.
  15. Strikeouts do NOT matter for a leadoff man. When you're swinging at balls outside the zone they do.
  16. Some guys, who may not be better players than others, seem to adjust to the majors better than others. There were lots of "better" players than Scott Podsednik, but he was able to adjust to the majors better than more talented players, or he just improved more than others. Why Gwynn gets the automatic backhand treatment by people without getting a shot (people assume he will end up being terrible) seems short sighted to me.
  17. The answer to your question is no, we don't need a leadoff hitter. Weeks doesn't like batting leadoff and he is striking out a lot. I think we could use a leadoff hitter.
  18. Is anyone else a little curious to see Lincecum vs. Oswalt?
  19. If Gross would have done that today instead of Gwynn, everyone would be demanding he go down to AAA. I don't get the TGJ vs. Gross argument. My argument is whether we need TGJ playing because we need a leadoff hitter. 3 good ABs mean something when you're vying to bat leadoff. Of course, I can't bring up TGJ in any thread anymore without it becoming a Gross argument.
  20. Hmm. Is it possible that Gwynn, as hot as he has been, isn't God? I'll stop praying to him, if that's what you mean.
  21. Basehit scores one, and hopefully Sheets get from 2nd to 3rd.
