  1. I can't believe Ned had to even make a decision to put Bush in the 4th starting spot. I can. I think an arguement could be made that he should be our #3.
  2. Bill Pulsipher reportedly lost his roster spot with the President Lions of Taiwan to Jeriome Robertson. Too bad. Looks like this could finally be curtains for Bill.
  3. is the most worth piece of crap on the team Kevin Mench You think he has the most worth? I would have said Sheets.
  4. Former All-Star Ricky Bones. Former All-Star Mark Redman. Former All-Star Derrick Turn......... Give me a few months on that one.
  5. Anybody ever see Primer? I also saw, and walked away thinking, "I think I really liked it, but I'm not sure." I have to see it again because there were things I didn't follow, which is something that I love because finding a confusing film (due to its intellect) is hard. I'm not sure Primer is a film that anyone can see just once without having some questions that require a second viewing. Or maybe I'm just dumb.
  6. AMERICAN HARDCORE: For those of you interested in the American underground hardcore scene between 1980-1986 (and I know there's a few of you), this is a nice little compendium of interviews and band. I am a fanatic for that stuff and was more than a little upset that they only showed about 10 seconds of every live performance they cut to (who doesn't want to see the Bad Brains do more than a song intro?). Haven't checked out the special features though. A GUIDE TO RECOGNIZING YOUR SAINTS: Yeah, I was hoping for something on the Sleepers level, and instead got the little brothers of the two-line characters from Bronx Tale. HOLLYWOODLAND: Worst movie I've seen in a long time. I should have known better. A Ben Affleck movie about a case that has never been solved (I don't feel I'm giving anything away. They mentioned the unsolved status in the previews). What was I thinking? STRANGER THAN FICTION: This Spoon sountrack with a plot is entertaining (I'm not a Will Ferrell fan, but I like him in this kind of role). It's no Adaptation but it has its moments. LIVING IN OBLIVION: Mid nineties Buscemi movie where he plays a low budget film director and everything goes wrong. It's fun to watch, and if you get a chance, I would recommend watching this a Tree's Lounge back-to-back and gain a real appreciation of Buscemi. WHEN WE WERE KINGS: Documentary filmed during the preparation for the Ali/Foreman fight in Zaire. Haven't seen it. Run, do not walk, and find it.

I didn't even look at yours and used Bill's as my template. I swear I didn't know your record predictions before I put mine. Guess we're on the same page there.
  8. Why don't they just call the season off and give us the 2007 World Series Trophy right now? I don't understand why you wrote that in blue.
  9. No, but in all seriousness, this is awesome, and if he can produce half as good as he has today for the rest of spring he will be on the team. If he does half as good, he'll hit .500, with one HR and 4 RBIs every game. That may be good enough to hit sixth for the Brewers. EDIT: Sorrt I was incorrect. I thought he was 4-4 with 8 RBIs. He was only 4-5 with 7 RBIs. What a bum.
  10. If we had a truly established third baseman on he team and Braun did this, I'd be optimistic about the position down the road. However, we don't have an established third baseman, so I was on my knees hoping that Braun would give the team a reason to play him at third. He's on his way. Just keep giving the coaching staff reasons Ryan, keep doing it. If he does, I say to hell with arbitration.
  11. It's incredible to me how the Brewers have gone from Moeller starting 25-30% of the games, to Estrada-Miller-Rivera-Closser (though it's been mentioned that the Crew will likely not have both Rivera and Closser in the system once the year starts).
  12. Man. I was going to make a post about how I think it is valid to consider Villanueva for the number five spot instead of Vargas. Now I can't because it will seem like a knee jerk reaction after the first spring training game.
  13. Is Chris Saenz completely done? Was the injury career ending or is he with another team or what? EDIT: thanks for the addendum Brian. Looking back, that was a pretty lame title for the topic.
  14. Watched "Bad Boys" the other night. No, not that one. The older one with Sean Penn and Esai Morales. I'd never seen it all the way through, but it is quite entertaining. I tried to rent "The Departed" three nights in a row, but it was all empty from two different places. I've never seen that before.
  15. Filthy Frog, You have the Godspeed You! Black Emperor cover to "Lift Your Skinny Fists Like Antennas To Heaven" icon! You can post that you're a Cubs fan, and you'd still be on my cool list now.
  16. I usually try to rent something that seems hidden on the shelf. A few gems that I've come across: CITY OF GOD Mentioned by Homer earlier. One of the best I've ever seen. PARIS, TEXAS If anyone thought "Eternal Sunshine on the spotless mind" was good, I'd argue this was better. GAME 6 Micheal Keaton as a Red Sox fan on the day of the Buckner game. How could it fail? LIVING IN OBLIVION Steve Buscemi as a B-director who can do nothing right. A modern take on "Ed Wood." BUS 174 Similar to "City of God," but is an actual documentary about a hijacking tragedy in Brazil. TALK RADIO If you're into dialogue this is your chlostrophobic dream. The most unheralded Oliver Stone film, but one of his best. HAPPINESS ONLY for those with a DARK sense of humor (like me) or hard core Phillip Seymore Hoffman fans. BLOOD SIMPLE The Coens started with a bang. 12 ANGRY MEN I never saw the version from the 50s, but the one from the 90s is the best courtroom drama I've ever seen (and there's not even a courtroom. Just a jury room.)
  17. If we trade Hall, then we have a team that will have no consistent HR threat, outside of Prince, and we already don't have any real base stealers (crossing fingers for Weeks on both counts). With neither the power to play long ball, nor the speed to play small ball, I'd say we'd have built ourselves quite a conundrum.
  18. Even though Jackson is probably going to get sent down, if and when he starts again, the IGT better show his college picture again.
  19. BREWERS (45-48 16-28 road) Zach Jackson (1-2 5.94) http://mlb.mlb.com/images/2004/06/01/6Ecj8iqj.jpg GIANTS (46-46 24-22 home) Jason Schmidt (6-5 2.7http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/glasses.gif http://artfiles.art.com/images/-/Jason-Schmidt-2003-NLDS-Shut-Out-Photograph-C10127537.jpeg TV: FSN North Radio: The Usual VS. SCHMIDT Cirillo 7-17 .412 Clark 4-12 .333 Weeks 1-3 .333 Jenkins 5-20 .250 Lee 2-10 .200 Miller 2-16 .188 Koskie 1-6 .167 No other Brewer has a hit off him, and no current Brewer has EVER hit a HR off him. In May, Schmidt threw a CG SHO at Miller Park, giving up 5 hits, 0 walks, and striking out 7, wasting a great outing by Dave Bush as 2-0 was the final. Tonight is a daunting task.
  20. Still only 3 games out of Wild Card. But there has to be some major work done on the pen. Hopefully Sheeter and Ohka get back so that Villanueva and company can help in the pen.
  21. Batista shall be defeated! http://www.colossusblog.com/mt/archives/images/che_guevara.jpg
  22. Get Cappy in the AS game and this will be a banner few days. I welcome the Cubs to town with open arms.
  23. Carlos hit it as hard as can be. It was just unfortunate where it ended up.
  24. Anyone else watching this game think Carlos could have gotten to that ball?
  25. Nice play Gabe. Villanueva looking sharp through three.
