ARod with another HR. A second inning solo shot. This was ridiculous a week ago. Now it's just absurd. Jimmy Rollins has a home run and a triple and they're only in the 2nd inning.
Wow. How the heck does a player like Spivey wind up in Independent League ball? Joining the ranks of the greats: JD Drew Darryl Strawberry John Rocker Ricky Henderson Pedro Guerrero
interesting Tidbit from the Northsidebaseball forum about Zambrano's comments. Milwaukee - .348 OBP .459 SLG .807 OPS (4th overall in NL in runs) Cincinatti - .310 OBP .360 SLG .670 OPS (11th in RS in NL) We actually...have hte better offense This was mentioned under the Zambrano thread under Major Leagues. The poster was a BF.netter. That's beautiful.
It's funny. All the posters on northsidebaseball.com are pessimistic about this game and the BF.netters are pessimistic about this game. Somebody has to be wrong.
You know what really grinds my gears? America (you know the word) you! You know what really grinds my gears? America. I hate that band. I mean c'mon, really...."A Horse With No Name"?!?! You've got to be kidding me.
Wow. The Reds bullpen blew it for Arroyo. Leading 6-2 in the 8th, Saarloos, Stanton, and Weathers have given up 5, and it's 7-6 'stros. Still only the 8th. I'd love extras.
It goes against every "rule" in the book, but with 2 outs I just would have walked him and taken my chances with Giambi. Of course, if that doesn't work, Eric wedge would be hearing it.
I was a fairweather Bucks fan to begin with, but this just makes me against them. If they end up with Joakim Noah, I will truly hate them. Ah, well. Back to Ueck and Powell.
My favorite games the last few years have come against the Reds: -- Hall's walk off HR (with Moeller's cycle) -- Hall walk off suicide squeeze (after being down I believe 9 runs) -- 5 HRs in one inning with a Dave Bush shutout and 5 Damian Miller RBIs (our catchers and Hall seem to have career games vs. the Reds) By the way Woogie, I know it's been said a million times, but great graphics this year.
dodgers over rockies (losing right now) Don't worry. I have Jeff Francis on my fantasy team, which means he'll blow it. I thought he was crusing and then....a home run to Jason Schmidt?????
The ESPN Insider has a headline that says the Giants and Rockies are interested in Capellan. I'm nt an insider, so I can't get to it. Any idea who the Rockies would offer? EDIT: Nevermind. I missed the whole other thread.
For those who have the audio working: is Gameday accurate on Sheet's pitch count? 15 pitches and 12 batters faced? Judging by the previous few posts, I can't believe that's correct.
Actually, 25 errors. If you really want to be precise, an 18 year old Yount played in 107 games and had 364 PA. That's likely in the range of what Braun will get this year. Yount's rookie year: 19 errors. You're right, 25. The season he turned 23 (September) he had 30. For the 44 errors, I did say his first full season. I don't really consider 107 games a full season. I wasn't really comparing the two. I was simply concurring to the earlier point that many young players on the left side of the infield have fielding problems. I just listed the first one that came to mind. Can Braun play third? It's yet to be seen, but I believe with all his talent, the inability to throw the ball across the diamond must be a mental problem. I think it's worth trying to solve that problem, as we need a third baseman. Not an outfielder.
If sheets doesn't win the cy young with .98 whip, then I wonder what Oswalt is going to do to deserve it, lol He had a .98 WHIP in 2004. Cy Young? Not even close.
