I think that if Yost doesn't allow Sheets to choose the Brewers' lineup on his pitching days, he should. He's earned the right, considering no lineup created by the coaches has worked.
Good news, Brewers win. Bad news, so has/is everyone else. Cincy, Cubs, and Crew shut down the east. Houston is up on the dodgers 3-2 and St. Louis is doubling up Pittsburgh 6-3. What can you do?
Seriously. Do they make up these questions themselves? "What role did Yost have coaching under Cox?" By Russ in Sheboygan. He emailed this question? That means he has the internet. 10 seconds to find the answer.
I'm impressed with Giles. You ever notice how he's able to blow bubbles while running around the bases or, in this case, taking the relay and firing home?
I wonder if the Braves will be the only team this year to allow a SB to Lee and Fielder in the same series. How can that be possible? Don't forget that Jenkins had one yesterday.
Indeed, it was Sutton. Not that he needed to pitch all that well. The Brewers' bats were smoking. Sutton also won Game 3 of the LCS (facing elimination).
Thanks for the info. I was at the game, but was away when that happened. I came back to my seat and saw everyone on the third base side standing up. Hope everything turns out okay.
The Brewers did pretty well against Davies the one time they've faced him (last year) with 4 runs in 5 innings. The bad news: It was almost strictly Clark and Overbay displaying any offensive capabilities vs. Davies. The good news: Sheets was pitching that day. To get 4 runs in 5 innings for sheets would equate to 10 runs in 3 innings when another pitcher is starting! Today maybe?
I hope the unis aren't unlucky because we have tickets to several upcoming Sundays. I don't think it's the wearing of the unis. I think it's the LIMITED wearing of the unis. We've angered the ghosts of 1982 by choosing to wear them only on Sundays. Like Bill the Butcher said, "You run neither hot nor cold and I spew you out of my mouth."
Oh man! Just got back from the game. I only decided this morning to drive up and see it (I'm a Madisonian). It was beautiful (plush Bush is on my fantasy team). I'm shocked there are only 9 pages of posts. Is it cause everyone was at the game? Because it wasn't on TV? Because everyone is hungover and just woke up? I had a perfect angle on Fielder's "record" HR. If you drew a line from me to the playing field it would have gone straight down the first baseline to the foul pole (from loge level). Ecstatic. I won't soon forget today.
I just don't buy that we should play Hall tonight solely because "He crushes the Reds." Baseball is a funny game. Some players just have it against some teams. Dave Williams was not a Red until this year. Paul Cofee and Eric Milton just joined the squad last year. We should play Hall because he's GOOD and there is an intangible in the air that just seejms to happen in baseball. Do I feel more confident in J.J. or Brady right now? No.
