If this was like 9 year old little league where you bat 13 guys in the lineup, I think the Brewers would be one of the major benefactors, adding Gross, Fielder, Hall, and Hart to today's lineup.
I'd take my chances with JJ hitting with the bases loaded and one out than having Miller run on a chopper to the infield. Once it became obvious that it was over the pitchers head, I can't imagine any position where a fielder could have fielded it and gone home.
I don't get it. This was a perfect opprtunity to get Koskie AND Hall in the lineup if you just have Koskie play first. They would rather have Koskie and Cirillo? Ah well, how about a multi-hit game Jeff? It's not like he hasn't paid his dues.
Phillies just beat the Mets in the bottom of the 9th. Abreu came up with the bases loaded, 2 outs, and the score tied, and Heilman commited an error`. All of this according to Gamecast.
This is the third time in a row on the non-game thread that I've jinxed a pitcher into having a terrible inning after commenting on how great they were doing. Armas just got pulled after loading the bases with nobody out.
I said: Todd Walker MAY be MAKING A RUN at it. D-Lee got hurt two weeks ago. Here is Walker's line in the last two weeks. 13 games 11-47 (.234) 0 HR 1 R 1 RBI .308 OBP .277 SLG .585 OPS Cirillo doesn't need any power to top that.
I'm at work and noticed they took Fielder out, did he get hurt running to 1st last inning or what happened? Yeah, it looked like he pulled up lame after a few strides toward first. Hope it's nothing serious.
