  1. I doubt your "source" in the clubhouse even exists. Mom, get off the internet.
  2. the ap is reporting the sheets will pitch on thursday. why don't i buy that? That has been my point. How on earth can you believe anybody?
  3. Johan Santana has a no-no through 6.
  4. Really, who are we to judge the competance of the organization staff based simply on our opinions, rumors, and sporadic news articles? The point is everyone knew something was wrong with Ben. The organization said their wasn't. Obviously there was and is. How did everyone else know? Anyone who watched the last game he pitched HAD to know. The clubhouse workers KNEW! (I ask very little, but I'm going to have to ask you to trust me on that one). At what point do you finally come to the conclusion that something is not right?
  5. Tell Wood and Prior that. Not everyone is made of glass. As far as pitching on three days rest being a huge deal, I just can't agree if it's a one time thing. I grew up watching Nolan Ryan do it, "bullpen" used to be an unknown word, and pitchers were doing it every postseason until a few years ago (see: Doug Drabek, Jack Morris, Greg Maddux, Orel Hershiser, etc., etc. Now count THEIR injuries). I'm saying the Brewers either 1.) knew Sheets was really hurting or 2.) were naive. There was a thread which read "Rumors of Sheets sore arm in Clubhouse." It all got denied, and then he gets scratched. Is it being suggested that this is a coincidence? Look at last year and what happened. The Brewers are either guilty of lying, denial, or ignorance. Choose your favorite explantion.
  6. The thing is, if they had known about this, why would they have planned to start Bush on 3 days rest? Seems stupid if they knew he was hurt. If they are stone sober in their conviction to leave Jackson and Eveland in triple A for now, what choice did they have? I, for one, do not think pitching on 3 days rest is a big deal. EVERY picher was doing it until the 80s. You saw what Harang did vs. the Crew. What's the big deal with three days rest?
  7. I really don't know what the deal is. However, I do know 2 things 1.) The one guy I know who is friends with Sheets said "Uh oh" to me, and 2.) Last year, they strung along the idea that Sheets' would return "soon" upon getting an ear infection and didn't conclude that his season was done early when everyone knew it was. I don't trust their positive way of saying "It's under control. Nothing serious." They have cried wolf (or simply jumped to optimistic conclusions) too many times. Heck, four days ago Benny wasn't hurt at all; and now he's being scratched? Isn't it kind of obvious that something is rotten in Denmark?
  8. Just got off the phone with a guy who works for the Brewers. He said he went to the trainer the day after Sheets got lit up and asked "What's the deal?" The response was "he's hurting....not good." My conversation just ended with him telling me, "Though I don't know yet; I wouldn't be surprised if it's 60 day D.L." Man, I hope he's wrong.
  9. Hopefully Bush has a little Aaron Harang in him.
  10. Dave Bush is starting for the Brewers today. Sheets is out with right shoulder stiffness. Bush will pitch on 3 days rest. What!? Did they say whether Sheets is missing this entire turn in the rotation or could he start on Tuesday?
  11. 24 innings? That's insane. My one gripe about Miller Park is no more double headers. Sounds/Zephyrs fans got lucky.
  12. Why did we pull Hall? All we had to do was PH Cirillo for the pitcher. Then Hall would still be in.
  13. Dear Billy, I love you. Sincerely, Dan Kolb
  14. Okay! Come on Prince! A run is waiting for you.
  15. Quit trying to pull it J.J. Go to right like you used to.
  16. My tepid attitude was answered with positive activity. Come on Rickie.
  17. Is Bush doing "The Ohka" with good start/bad start.
  18. I'll always like Matheny, and man- did he make a heck of a play there.
  19. Brewer bats appear to just be lulling along.
  20. They're going to show Barry's ABs because so many fans are anxious to see him work his way to 100 career HBPs.
  21. Just got back from the game. WORST NIGHT EVER! Sheets gets tagged and I get a ticket for speeding on the way up. ARRRGGGHHH!
