  1. Carlos Rodriguez is twirling a gem through 4 innings in Biloxi. Brock Wilken had a 111 EV, 406ft foul ball (wasn't close to being fair but just wanted to share cause 111 EV!! lol)
  2. On September 13th, 2018, the Brewers were 8-3 in September and coming off a series win against the Cubs to put them 1.5 games behind the Cubs in the division race. On September 13, 2023, the Cubs are 7-7 in September and coming off a series loss against Colorado to put them 4-5 games back of the Brewers. These situations aren't remotely similar. I don't know why you constantly feel the need to feign fear about the Brewers but you've been doing it literally all season. First with the Cardinals (haven't heard you talk about them much lately) and now with the Cubs despite both of their fanbases not thinking they are as good as you imply.
  3. I've been browsing bleedcubbieblue and northside baseball the last few days and the fan sentiment seems to be that the division isn't really in play and that it's just the WC that is the focus now.
  4. Results have been a mixed bag for the 4 RP they let go from last year. I still think they made the right call on them. Boxberger and Gott have been bad. Topa and Suter have been good but the decisions to move on from them were plenty valid. Topa was too injury prone for us and Suter was getting expensive for a non-leverage pen roll.
  5. The good thing is the quality of contact has improved. A lot of more line drives and a lot fewer ground balls. I still think it's very unlikely he gets called up. If Brewers were going to add a prospect who isn't Rule 5 eligible this offseason to the 40-man it would have happened already imo. I think Brewers would rather have Miller/Perkins on the MLB roster than Black at this point just for the offseason flexibility.
  6. If Donaldson gets hot, I could honestly see Turang losing most of his playing time like Wiemer has. The best potential Brewers lineup at this point is likely. 1. Yelich - LF 2. Contreras - C 3. Santana - 1B 4. Adames - SS 5. Canha - DH 6. Donaldson - 3B 7. Frelick - CF 8. Monasterio - 2B 9. Taylor - RF
  7. Had the correct lineup, but not the correct batting order.
  8. I was thinking Caratini at C and Contreras DH today to avoid putting Turang in the lineup vs a LHP. 2B - Monasterio DH - Contreras 1B - Santana SS - Adames 3B - Donaldson RF - Frelick C - Caratini LF - Taylor CF - Wiemer
  9. Yeah I think they are doing this so Rea can go like 5 innings without facing the top half of the order a 3rd time. Megill gets the first 4-5 hitters. Rea comes in and pitches through the 6th/7th. Then we bring in the fresh A bullpen of Peguero, Payamps, Williams if the score is close.
  10. This is from McCalvy’s most recent newsletter. “Flanagan confirmed that No. 3 Brewers prospect Jacob Misiorowski won’t pitch anymore this season for Double-A Biloxi. He’s been shut down since developing arm fatigue in the wake of a 12-strikeout performance last month, and continues to rehab at the club’s facility in Phoenix, Flanagan said. There just won’t be time to get him back on the field before the Shuckers' season ends. The good news is that the diagnosis -- arm fatigue -- hasn’t been replaced by something more serious. That would position Misiorowski to get some additional work in the fall should the Brewers choose to augment the 71 1/3 innings the big right-hander already threw at three affiliates in 2023.”
  11. McCalvy said he was nearing his innings limit when he got shut down, so I’m not sure they will view him as someone who needs more innings.
  12. I don’t think Chourio will because he’s 19 and has played a ton of baseball this season. He could end up with close to 600 PA depending on Biloxi making a deep playoff run. My guesses would be. EBJ - Missed a lot of time to injury so could use the extra reps Hendry Mendez - Same reasoning as EBJ Eduardo Garcia - Same reasoning as EBJ and Mendez Adam Seminaris - Missed a lot of time to injury and could use extra innings Alexander Cornielle - Finished the year very strong but has almost 30 fewer IP than last season. Gets him more innings and against some heightened opposition. Brian Fitzpatrick - Coming of injury he’s only thrown 30 innings this year and could probably use some more innings
  13. Misiorowski and Blalock are both shut down right now.
  14. It really does feel that way. He’s made so many of these tweets since our big win streak in August
  15. They did. They just used him in the 8th
  16. Then here is a thread from Jarrett Seidler, a Baseball Prospectus prospect guy, showing how rare it is for PCA's current batted ball profile to work in the MLB.
  17. Yeah his defense is absolutely an 80 grade. Bat has massive question marks though. Here are his percentiles in AA. Doesn't hit the ball hard and doesn't have good plate discipline. Still very young so he can develop, but the likelihood of him being an immediate impact at the plate is pretty low with a profile like that.
  18. Caminero is up again as the tying run in the 9th. Shuckers bullpen is really playing games they shouldn't be playing right now.
  19. Gulp Shuckers have left themselves with Caminero up to the plate as the tying run. Bullpen just too leaky today.
  20. Ashby is being sent to Biloxi this week. I really pray he doesn’t blow Biloxi’s playoff chances. Seems like a very questionable call from management not to just send him to Nashville
  21. I do wonder how much playing time EBJ and Wilken will get. Murray and Zamora haven’t exactly been on fire at the plate lately. I imagine we see something like this. C: Quero/Clarke 1B: Martinez/Clarke/Warren 2B: Zamora/Murray 3B: Wilken/Warren SS: EBJ/Zamora LF: Collins/Rodriguez CF: Chourio RF: Sparks/Rodriguez DH: Clarke/Warren/Collins/Quero
  22. I was generally on the opposite side of this argument previously but at one point yesterday there was literally 6 posted articles on the MLB forum in a span of 24 hours. That’s just totally excessive. Zero need for 6 articles to be posted in 24 hours on a site like this.
  23. Smyly gets the first out of the 9th and they bring Fulmer in. 6 straight balls with a HBP since entering. Rockies have runners on 1st and 2nd with 1 out.
  24. Rockies instead of using their closer bring in a RP with a 6.00 ERA and he blows it. Cubs continue to be incredibly lucky.
