  1. Yeah there’s just zero reason to say Nadal is on the same level of prospect status as any of those guys. Nadal was an over age DSL repeater. He’s 3 months younger than Luke Adams who had many dominant stretches playing 2 levels above Nadal. Bitonti is actually 16 months younger than Nadal. Nadal had a great season no doubt but he needs to show quite a bit more before he’s on the same level as any of those guys you listed.
  2. John Cassidy went 1-20 for the Brooklyn Atlantics in 1875 and Jack Nabors went 1-20 for the Philadelphia Athletics in 1916. Those are the 2 worst records minimum 1 loss I can find in MLB history. Post integration the worst I can find is Mike Parrott who went 1-16 for the Mariners in 1980. He won the season opener then lost 16 straight to end the year. He was traded to the Brewers in March of 1982 for Thad Bosley but never played another MLB game after the trade. Anthony Young also went 1-16 for the Mets in 1993. Between May 1992 and July 1993 he lost 27 straight decisions which is the longest losing streak in MLB history. So Greinke is flirting with history at 1-14.
  3. 2 series left for AA. We play Birmingham this coming week then we play Montgomery in the final week. Hopefully the extra game for them doesn’t end up mattering
  4. Well that absolutely sucks if true. That means no stream for the 3 game divisional playoff series.
  5. @Joseph Zarr, @damuelle, @Mass Haas do any of you know how home seed is determined for the full season divisional playoff rounds? I'm seriously hoping it goes by overall season record and not 1st half hosts because Down East won the first half and Down East games aren't streamed...
  6. One of my favorite prospect twitter follows who just finished up working with the Cubs this summer has Wilken 51 on his Top 100. The good contact doesn't seem as surprising when you find out his swing is a bit on the flat side. Pretty glowing review. I have a feeling Wilken gets to finish the year at AA after Wisconsin's season is over next week.
  7. Carolina has their work cut out for them today facing Brock Porter. He's dominated in A ball all year.
  8. Beloit doesn’t show velo on screen so unfortunately not. I didn’t recall the announcers saying the velo either. I think they said he threw a 92 mph changeup at one point but I’m guessing that was actually his sinker? So velo down pretty considerably if I am remembering correctly. The dreaded eye test tells me his velo was down as well.
  9. How the Brewers assign prospects next year will be pretty interesting to watch. Seems like there are a lot of guys at AA, A+ and A that should be starting next year at the next level. Feel like the Sounds next year will be a much more homegrown team than we had this year.
  10. Absolutely clutch especially with Montgomery continuing to play well. Nice to see Chourio and Quero potentially heating up at the plate as well.
  11. Beating the Phillies 2 games in a row with their aces on the mound. That's something you absolutely love to see. This team is just playing really good baseball right now. Nice to see them bounce back from a couple tough days hitting into the wind.
  12. Rather it happen now than a month from now. Hopefully they get it out of their system and are rolling heading into the playoffs.
  13. Insurance run or two would be nice. Could let Peguero finish the game and not use DW then
  14. Don't know why that's not interference on Harper for running partially in fair territory.
  15. Megill pitched really well there. Really just need to tip the cap to Turner there.
  16. Anyone else surprised Turang didn't score on that one?
  17. Seems like national broadcast games have the home plate mic turned up more than the Bally broadcasts typically do.
  18. He has a club option for like $11.5M or something like that.
  19. Very bizarre play in Carolina. Juan Baez just his a "ground rule double" with the bases loaded on a line drive comebacker that bounced so hard off the pitcher that it shot into the Down East dugout. Can't say I have ever seen that before.
  20. Henderson does pick up the 10th strikeout but also gives up 3 singles resulting in earned run. The damage could have been more but Reidy Mercado threw a dart from CF to get the runner trying to go from 1st to 3rd on the third single of the inning. I imagine that will be Henderson's final inning. Great start from him. 6 IP, 4 H (all singles), 1 ER, 0 BB, 10 SO.
  21. Mudcats put another 2 runs on the board in the 4th with a Kay-Lan Nicasia single followed by Reidy Mercado and Gregory Barrios doubles. 7-0 after 4 innings. Henderson retires the side in order in the 5th with 2 strikeouts. His line is now 5 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 9 SO. The 9 strikeouts has tied a career high and with his pitch count at 67 through 5 innings he should have at least another inning to set a new career high in strikeouts.
  22. Logan Henderson just dominating a very overmatched Down East lineup. 4 IP, 1 H, 0 ER, 0 BB, 7 SO. Mudcats up 5-0 with Jesus Chirinos accounting for 4 of the 5 runs on a 3rd inning grand slam to RF
  23. That's so bizarre especially considering Philly doesn't exactly have a pitchers park.
  24. Also my goodness has Cornielle been much closer to what we expected from him since his brief 20-ish day stint on the IL in June. Before IL stint - 9 G, 41 IP, 5.71 ERA, 4.12 FIP After IL stint - 10 G, 41 IP, 4.17 ERA, 3.64 FIP That after stint includes his 1 game blowup on 8/3 where he went 0.1 IP with 6 ER. If you take that start out, his after numbers become pretty special. 9 G, 40.2 IP, 2.88 ERA, 3.07 FIP
  25. 23 because San Francisco and Arizona both have tie breakers over us.
