  1. We see you, Reese Olson
  2. Initial post in thread is up-to-date.
  3. This deal: Mariners (12/05/19) -- Acquired C Omar Narvaez in exchange for RHP Adam Hill and future considerations (2020 Competitive Balance Round B draft pick - RHP Connor Phillips, currently #11 on the Mariners MLB Pipeline list) Was replaced by this one: Mariners (05/02/21) -- Acquired C Jacob Nottingham in exchange for cash considerations *** Visit the initial post in this thread to see the last trade with the Rays prior to the Adames/Richards for Feyereisen/Rasmussen deal today.
  4. Blue Jays (11/04/19) -- Acquired 1B/OF Chad Spanberger in exchange for RHP Chase Anderson This was replaced by the Derek Fisher acquisition in the initial post in this thread.
  5. This trade partner relationship with Colorado is by far the longest dry spell currently for the Brewers, as seen in the initial post here. It's ten and a half years longer than the next longest drought (St. Louis). Even though this was one of those quick same-day Rule 5 draft trades, it's still sad to note that Carvajal passed in January 2018 at age 33. Former pitcher Marcos Carvajal dies in Venezuela amid lack of medication for pneumonia NOTE: This past spring MLB.com wrote about the longest current MLB trade partner droughts for each team. Brewers-Rockies is the 7th longest drought, and no drought pre-dates the year 2000. Bumped this post and this thread because Kyle Lobner continued his remarkable This Day in Brewers History series today, and I realized that on this same day five years earlier in 1999 the two teams were involved in a major (yet lackluster for the Crew) three-team trade. Haven't researched if the teams had dealt with each other between the '99 and '04 deals. P.S.: I am aware that in the initial post of this thread many of the Baseball Cube Player Page links need to be updated. Apparently the Cube changed all their links some time ago.
  6. I enjoyed AMC's Quiz. I've copied and pasted this disclaimer -- If you don’t remember the details about the Who Wants to Be a Millionaire? fraud scandal that happened in the early 2000s in England, don’t go to Google before you watch Quiz. The fascinating three-part (each one hour) limited series, which first aired in May in the U.K. and debuted earlier this month, is compelling regardless, but may be best appreciated by those who come to it with as few preconceived notions as possible.
  7. Here are the prior deals with these teams: Now the Jordan Lyles acquisition for Cody Ponce, but previously: Pirates (12/17/15) -- Acquired OF Keon Broxton and RHP Trey Supak in exchange for 1B Jason Rogers *** Now the Drew Pomeranz / Ray Black acquisitions for Mauricio Dubon, but previously: Giants (03/24/19) -- Acquired INF C.J. Hinojosa in exchange for C Erik Kratz *** Now the Jacob Faria acquisition for Jesus Aguilar, but previously: Rays (06/10/18) -- Acquired IF Brad Miller and cash in exchange for 1B Ji-Man Choi *** Now the cash acquisition for Marcos Diplan, but previously: Twins (08/03/15) -- Acquired cash in exchange for LHP Neal Cotts

  9. We lost Ken Berry of F-Troop, Mayberry RFD and Mama's Family at age 85 Saturday. LINK Friend Larry Storch (Agarn on F-Troop) still with us at 95. You may remember this episode of the Brady Bunch with Ken Berry which was aired as a pilot for a potential new series had it been picked up. It would have been ahead of its time in some regard if it had (four years before "Diff'rent Strokes).
  10. From 2013's post -- Both gone now, as we lost "Mrs. Oleson" this week at 93.
  11. This got swapped out quickly: Yankees (05/25/18) -- Brewers acquired C Erik Kratz in exchange for cash considerations now reading: Yankees (06/15/18) -- Brewers acquired RHP Chad Whitmer in exchange for international bonus pool money
  12. Sunday's Brad Miller acquisition replaces this most recent "trade with the Rays": Rays (07/10/16) -- Brewers acquired cash in exchange for RHP Jaye Chapman
  13. This was the prior trade with the Yankees before today's acquisition of catcher Erik Kratz: Yankees (07/13/17) -- Brewers acquired LHP Tyler Webb in exchange for 1B Garrett Cooper
  14. Guess the Yelich trade eclipses the most recent deal with the Marlins
  15. Replaced this within the thread's initial post: Dodgers (05/04/17) -- Acquired cash considerations in exchange for OF Victor Roache with the Dylan Baker trade to LA.
  16. Just over four years ago, this thread started with this post. Rose Marie's death this week reminded me. At the bottom of this update, listing those still with us, of course others are as well, who were referenced in subsequent posts. Katherine McGregor, Betty White, Norman Lear, Larry Storch, Dick Van Dyke, Bob Barker, June Lockhart, Robert Clary, Charlotte Rae, Bill Daily, Peter Marshall, Katherine Helmond, Orson Bean and Marion Ross are still with us, all 89 years old and above. Of course, those are just the updates from the original post. Thanks to all who have contributed otherwise. The Dead or Alive site isn't perfect. I've emailed multiple times to let them know G.D. Spradlin (Police Academy) and the legendary Maureen O'Hara have passed (still listed as alive).
  17. The Anthony Swarzak acquisition with the White Sox replaced a trade that was tied for the longest current team pairing drought, replacing this memorable deal: White Sox (12/13/04) -- Brewers acquired OF Carlos Lee in exchange for OF Scott Podsednik, RHP Luis Vizcaino and a player to be named (INF Travis Hinton) In terms of trade partners, the longest current gap is now solely with the Rockies (12/13/04). *** Easier to recognize the latest trade with Texas, as the Jeremy Jeffress re-acquisition replaces the big Lucroy/Brinson (plus) deal of last summer on our "Last Trade With" tracker.
  18. The Garrett Cooper for Tyler Webb deal replaces the one below that was within our initial post in this thread. Re-visit that post to see the entire list of "last trades" with all 29 other MLB organizations. Yankees (08/31/16) -- Acquired cash in exchange for UT Eric Young, Jr.
  19. Yes, the Nick Noonan trade replaced this: Marlins (11/25/96) -- Acquired LHP Joel Adamson in exchange for RHP Eddie Collins The new longest drought is with the Rockies (12/13/04).
  20. Here's the trade that was replaced by Thursday's Victor Roache move to the Dodgers within the initial post in this thread: Dodgers (12/18/14) -- Brewers acquired LHP Jarret Martin and OF/IF Matt Long in exchange for C Shawn Zarraga And yes, just two and a half years later, none of the three are currently playing affiliated ball (Zarraga did play for the Netherlands in the WBC this spring).
  21. Replaced this: Astros (11/19/15) -- Acquired IF Jonathan Villar for RHP Cy Sneed with Astros (03/26/17) -- Acquired C Tyler Heineman for a PTBNL or cash in the initial post.
  22. William Christopher, Father Mulcahy on 'M*A*S*H,' dies at 84 http://www.nndb.com/people/645/000023576/mulcahy3-sized.jpg
  23. My wife and I recently rediscovered Bewitched, one of her favorite all-time shows, after not watching episodes for 25 years or more. I was surprised to learn that one of the adult cast members was still with us until this past week, as Bernard Fox (Dr. Bombay) passed away at 89. Some cool info in this article about his approach to that role and his Titanic connections. http://cdn4.thr.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/portrait_300x450/2016/12/bewitched_bernard_fox_photofest_-_p_2016.jpg
