  1. Transactions: RHP Shelby Miller returned to Milwaukee from Nashville Sounds rehab. Milwaukee Brewers recalled RHP Tobias Myers from Nashville Sounds. Milwaukee Brewers sent LHP Robert Gasser on a rehab assignment to Nashville Sounds. LHP Brian Fitzpatrick assigned to Nashville Sounds from Biloxi Shuckers. Wisconsin Timber Rattlers activated C Marco Dinges from the 7-day injured list. RHP Chang Tzu-Chun Lin assigned to DSL Brewers Gold from DSL Brewers Blue. Nashville Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Jacksonville (Marlins) 4, Nashville 1 Box Score and Game Log Via the Sounds, game details, and we encourage readers to review affiliate write-ups as part of their Link Report routine: Sounds Reach Season-High Five-Game Losing Streak with Loss to Jumbo Shrimp - Gasser tosses 3.0 scoreless innings in rehab assignment As you review his three innings, you'll see that rehabbing southpaw Robert Gasser had to deal with baserunners throughout yet kept things scoreless. Leadoff single but Gasser utilizes a pickoff to shorten the first inning. A leadoff man reaches in the 2nd on shortstop Ethan Murray's error. That inning also included a hit-by-pitch but ended on an infield single. How, did you ask? Gasser's final frame began with a walk and a line drive single, yet he worked around that mess. You could argue that these situations were more beneficial to Gasser's progression than if he had retired nine men in order. Nashville's offensive woes are really severe as of late, even their one run in this game was unearned. No excuse, really, there's no position players on the IL right now. I can't remember the last time Manager Rick Sweet had a six-man bench as he did here. The current roster composition is at the 28-man AAA maximum and is at 13 pitchers (plus rehabbers Gasser and Rob Zastryzny) and 15 position players, including four catchers (Alfaro, Haase, Quero, Kahle). This should become official over the weekend, at which point we'll likely see Nick Kahle moved to the Development List. The most impressive part of the Nashville evening was their "Stand Up to Cancer" proceedings and watch the full YouTube video linked here should you wish to embrace Kalli's journey. Hers is the true victory we didn't get on the field. The Sounds media team did sneak in ways to provide other brief highlights, available at their "X" feed. Biloxi Pre-Game Media Notes Final, Completion of Thursday's Suspended Game: Knoxville (Cubs) 2, Biloxi 0 Box Score and Game Log Final, Regularly Scheduled Game: Biloxi 2, Knoxville 1, seven innings as scheduled Box Score and Game Log Shuckers, Smokies Split Doubleheader on Friday in Knoxville - Roberts strikes out three in Shuckers debut, Lara adds to Southern League doubles lead Four lonely singles spread over two days spelled doom in the delayed finish to the opener. Mike Boeve was the designated hitter to begin the game on Thursday (walk, pop out), but was pinch-hit for immediately when the game resumed and also did not play in Game Two. Both through improved health and improved performance, much has to be done to regain any semblance of Boeve's previous prospect luster. Newcomer LH reliever Raúl Alcantara's organizational debut was a downer, the Brewers do often look at age (in this case, 24) when bringing in available minor league players. Unless Alcantara was signed for 2026 as well, he'll be a minor league free agent in the fall. Luis Lara doubled twice, and darn if a league-leading 26 doubles isn't impressive. Only once has a double been extended into a triple, and Lara still is sitting on just one home run (four with Wisconsin in 2024), but it's certainly been a successful season for the premium-glove 20-year-old center fielder (21 in November). Two K's, a base hit, then another K for the Shucker who had a better debut than Alcantara's. Without Brock Wilken and Luke Adams, this position player group is plodding along and isn't inspiring future playoff success. If we as fans are feeling forlorn without those two, you can imagine how Brock and Luke feel. In case you missed it from last Sunday via our special contributor @ARobsBrewCrew: "Unfortunately, Adams’ shoulder hasn’t progressed as hoped since his collision back in June. I spoke with him today and he is still unsure how long he will be out. It seems as though his season might be in jeopardy." Wisconsin Pre-Game Media Notes (download link) Final: Peoria (Cardinals) 7, Wisconsin 0 Box Score and Game Log Chiefs Shut Out Wisconsin - Rattlers held to two hits in 7-0 loss If the T-Rats were only going to have two hits, at least they were from Luis Pena (double) and Jesus Made (single). Plus, both of the young men walked. A lot of the Rattlers drew free passes (the game summary almost gets you dizzy keeping track of the mentions because all those walks led to no one crossing home plate). Could that be because of this below? BASERUNNING: CS Garcia, Y 2 (12, 2nd base by Davis/Campos, 2nd base by Davis/Campos); Guilarte (8, 2nd base by Davis/Campos); Made (1, 2nd base by Ramirez, J/Campos). That's 0-for-4 in that department - kudos, young man, wow. Pena played shortstop, Made was the DH. Ejections: Timber Rattlers pitcher Patricio Aquino ejected by 1B umpire Richy Arredondo (9th). Guess Aquino had something to say after he allowed two runs in the bottom of the 8th. At least Wisconsin didn't have to use another pitcher at that point. Carolina Pre-Game Media Notes Final: Carolina 3, Lynchburg (Guardians) 1 Box Score and Game Log Mudcats Down Lynchburg The go-ahead blow came early - If someone in your life is feeling down and needs something beautiful to brighten their mood, you can always share Josh Adamczewski's game log with them. Adamczewski's high school teammate RHP Griffin Tobias threw three shutties here, and the other arms, including youngest-in-the-Carolina-League southpaw Enderson Mercado, were on point as well. Congratulations on your professional debut, RHP Michael Fowler - 1-2-3 with two K's. More impressive? The just-turned-23-year-old's educational accomplishment. Final: DSL Brewers Blue 7, DSL Tampa Bay 1 Box Score and Game Log Courtesy of @Ro Mueller in our forum thread: Really solid 7-1 win for DSL Brewers Blue over DSL Tampa Bay (31-17), grabbing a 2-1 lead by the 4th inning before pouring on 5 runs over the final 2 frames, all while 2-hitting the opposition. 17-year-old RHP Steven Duran (5 IP, 0 R, 0 H, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 1 WP, 1 K; season ERA 3.43) was dominant in relief of terrific 17-year-old starting RHP Diustin Mayorquin (3 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 1 BB, 1 HBP, 1 K; season ERA 2.62). OF Frandy Lafond hit his first homer of 2025 (after 3 last season) in a 2-for-4 effort with a stolen base; a solo shot to the game 1-1 in the 3rd inning. 2B Moises Polanco went 3-for-4 with 2 doubles, 3 RBIs and a stolen base to lift his season OPS to .870. 3B Joan Gutierrez also had a 2-for-4, 2 RBI day, while 1B Jefer Lista went 1-for-3 with 2 walks and a stolen base. Final, completion of July 28th's game: DSL Orioles Orange 4, DSL Brewers Gold 1 Box Score and Game Log Once again via my partner-in-crime Link Reporter: DSL Gold was leading its July 28 game against DSL Orioles Orange 1-0 when a rain delay struck with 2 outs in the Orioles' half of the 5th inning. One more measly out on that day and they'd have likely been granted the Win. Instead, they conceded a 4-run 8th inning today to drop that contest. But at least 19-year old starting RHP Ruben Saldana now gets his gem officially on record: 4.2 IP, 0 R, 4 H, 3 BB, 1 HBP, 1 WP, 5 Ks. RHP Fabian Reyes (2 IP, 1 R, 2 H, 0 BB, 1 WP, 5 Ks) was credited with a rather unfair blown save, having inherited the bases loaded with nobody out from RHP Enrique Velasquez (2.1 IP, 3 R, 3 H, 3 BB, 4 WP) in the 8th inning. Final, Regularly Scheduled Game: DSL Brewers Gold 7, DSL Orioles Orange 2, seven innings as scheduled Box Score and Game Log We've got a professional debut for 19-year-old Chang Tzu-Chun Lin from Taiwan, as he started and pitched 1 inning for DSL Brewers Gold in their second game of the day: pop-out, fly out, walk, wild pitch, line out. My longtime baseball bud Kyle Lobner asked me, and I wish I knew: I would love to know what the process is for working with Lin at the academy - did they find a translator who speaks Chinese and Spanish? And if so, is that translator now living with him at the academy? Lin will hopefully make his way to Wilson at Low-A eventually and we'll learn more. Corner outfielder Alexander Frias (listed at 6'2", 177, won't turn 18 years old until March) was a $350,000 January signing and the LH bat is doing well despite missing nearly all of June with an injury - .329/.410/.411, we can quibble that 20 of 24 hits thus far are singles, including three in this game. Love that impressive 17-year-old pitcher Joan Pena is a southpaw. There's "extra" action again on Saturday as the Mudcats play two in an effort to make up for the torrential rain earlier this week. They get underway at 4:00 Central to kick off the non-Dominican League action for the day. Enjoy your summer Saturday, everyone, not many left! 4. Nashville Press Release: The Milwaukee Brewers have announced the following moves that impact the Nashville Sounds Roster: ADD: LHP Brian Fitzpatrick transferred to Nashville from Double-A Biloxi LHP Robert Gasser rehab assignment transferred to Nashville from High-A Wisconsin REMOVE: RHP Shelby Miller returned to Milwaukee from rehab RHP Tobias Myers recalled to Milwaukee The Nashville Sounds roster currently sits at 28 active + 2 MLB Rehab + 1 Injured List Myers is up for Logan Henderson (elbow inflammation) As for Fitzpatrick, the Ivory Tower is reading you, @wiguy94: "I think Fitzpatrick is actually pushing to be added to the 40 rather than added to the AAA roster to protect him from the minor league phase. He's had a really strong year. His velo is better than what I remember it being in the past. 6'7 LHP don't exactly grow on trees. Would love to see him get promoted to AAA to get a better feel for how his pitches move." Biloxi's Press Release on Fitzpatrick: BILOXI, MS – The Biloxi Shuckers and Milwaukee Brewers have announced that LHP Brian Fitzpatrick has been promoted to Triple-A Nashville. The Shuckers active roster now stands at 27 players. After being promoted from High-A on April 12, Fitzpatrick held a 1.82 ERA across 23 appearances and 34.2 innings with the Shuckers. Fitzpatrick ranked among the Southern League relief leaders (min. 30.0ip) in walk rate (4th, 7.5%), ERA (6th, 1.82), strikeout rate (9th, 28.6%) and swinging strike rate (9th, 13.6%).

The active roster now stands at 28 players. Alcantara has been assigned No. 27. Alcantara joins the Brewers organization after 22 appearances and five starts between Double-A Chesapeake and Triple-A Norfolk in the Baltimore Orioles organization this season.
