  7. Dan Zielinski joins the show to recap the Brewers draft and to get you ready for the remainder of the season.
  8. The A-Crew held on for the win, 18-year-old Tyler Renz picks up the win in relief of Rodriguez. DSL teams drop both contests, Daniel "Ro" to have his Link Report later this AM.
  9. The Warbirds arrival will likely lead to the end of collegiate summer baseball in Wilson, as the Wilson Tobs won't be locally funded any longer. ‘They don’t want us in town’: Tobs future in Wilson uncertain After nearly 30 years in Wilson, the Tobs baseball team faces an uncertain future as denied funding and stalled lease talks push the team to consider relocating from its longtime home. We won't link to each story on this, but it was referred to early within this thread as an implication of the new stadium and the 25-mile migration of the Mudcats.
  10. Duvall may not see action in 2025, but he counts against the 165 stateside roster limit, which I imagine is why you are inquiring. This is based on the same appreciated courtesy review the Brewers provide when we compile the lists for minor league free agency and Rule 5 eligibility.
  11. We are back up to 33 minor league free agents to be as of 07/17, and the initial post in this thread reflects this. OF Drew Avans - Avans, 29, was added to this list when he was outrighted to AAA Nashville on 7/18. C Andrick Nava - Nava was acquired for cash from the Phillies on July 18th, to help shore up catcher depth in the middle levels of the system. He turns 24 in October.
  12. Updated the initial post in this thread: Phillies (06/14/24) -- Acquired INF Casey Martin in exchange for cash considerations with: Phillies (07/17/25) -- Acquired C Andrick Nava in exchange for cash considerations
  13. Apparently, it's the Phillies the Crew turns to for miscellaneous roster fill when positional staffing is tight. The most recent Philly trade prior to today: Phillies (06/14/24) -- Acquired INF Casey Martin in exchange for cash considerations Martin is no longer with the organization, and it appears his pro career ended with last year's .485 OPS in 54 games with Biloxi.
  14. Via the Milwaukee Tailgate "Bonus" Podcast - "This is a bonus, teaser episode of the Minor League Extra available to all listeners. In it, Ryan Topp and Spencer Michaelis discuss the first five picks the Brewers made in this year's MLB draft. If you would like to hear about picks from the 4th through 20th round, you'll need to subscribe here at the Ball and Glove level and above. If you do, you'll not only get the Minor League Extra, but also Paul's weekly Packer previews during football season."
  15. Wednesday 7/16: Via the Milwaukee Tailgate "Bonus" Podcast - "This is a bonus, teaser episode of the Minor League Extra available to all listeners. Via WSCO's "The Show with Balky" (download link): Matt Carroll of the "Cold Brew Podcast" (go to the 06:45 minute mark) Via the "View from Bernie's Chalet" Podcast: "Jason, Hyatt & Tim chat sweep of the Nats, All-Star game/HR derby/futures game and draft, answer listener questions & preview the Dodgers & Mariners series."
  16. The well-traveled road for fireballing 2015 - 2019 Brewers farmhand Michael Petersen continues, including Carolina (then High-A) and Wisconsin (then low-A). Petersen, born in England, has been a WBC Great Britain participant.
  17. Updated the initial post in this thread: Dodgers (01/03/24) -- Acquired LHP Bryan Hudson in exchange for LHP Justin Chambers and cash with: Dodgers (07/09/25) -- Acquired OF Steward Berroa in exchange for cash Astros (03/26/17) -- Acquired C Tyler Heineman in exchange for cash considerations with: Astros (06/19/25) -- Acquired cash in exchange for 1B Wes Clarke
  18. On 7/16, the above text was removed from the initial post in this thread. Nittoli and Zimmermann are known opt-outs, Jay may very well have been as well. There are now 31 names to consider on the minor league free-agent-to-be list, not 34.
