  1. Hah! Understood but look at Rengifos positive war the past several years (and it might cost a 30 ish prospect). And Robert is good just like many White Sox hitters after leaving Comiskey. If it costs little then yes they both upgrade the team .
  2. Cant you adjust due to Andrew Vaughn and his outright talent and motivation for a contract? As for Rengifo, he’s damn solid the past five years and has a record of a solid bat, Mind you these two aren’t emptying the farm or anything near our top ten prospects to obtain.
  3. I think it will be more prudent to go and get Luis Robert for OF help and Rengifo from the Angels for IF help. Won’t cost any of the names we are worried about and this duo would fit great with us.
  4. What would have to be added to Quintana to get Josh Jung from the Rangers?
  5. No he hasn’t. But he also (obviously) has thrown very few innings, has been a good number 2 starter previously, is in the NL for the first time, and is playing for 8-9 figures. That should be enough for one to at least “think” that.
  6. Well, he will get that in the off season plus some. But maybe WIguy94 is right to not execute this idea. Who knows?
  7. Would you offer him 2/19 and see if he would accept that? It would open up the deadline pieces a bit for us and I’d guess both sides might do that.
  8. Man, figuring out how to handle our SP depth is a tough one. I’m almost leaning toward 1) Miz to bullpen 2) keep Patrick or/and Henderson in AAA if it helps get us an extra year out of either or both. 3) Keep it easy on Gasser and he stays in AAA too. 4) Myers becomes the sixth guy if needed or stays in AAA. I think Cortes can be a difference maker for us in the playoffs. Start Peralta, Cortes, Woody, Quintana, Priester as our August and thru the end starting five.
  9. I”d throw in Boeve and Ernesto and see if Cleveland would accept that. And if I could get Marte and Lawler for this trio and Boeve as an example, I’d accept in a heart beat.
  10. I expect these types of responses. I am more interested in the more astute posters that play along and answer: “How close are these three to Jose Ramirez” level posters though.
  11. I like DL Hall. I just think we should deal pitchers not starting and maybe unlikely to start next year for a better fit now or in the future. But yeah swap Hall in for one of the two if you’d like, Turbobuddy. I’m good with that kind sir.
  12. In thinking I don’t want to part with our top prospects this deadline, how good of a player or two could we get with the above names?
  13. Someday I’ll look up my Wiemer trade high idea I started, but what I mean is going after someone like Zach Neto or CJ Abram’s and not have to give up a ton more if Priester is the centerpiece.
  14. Sell high on Priester at the deadline? I got scolded here for wanting to sell high on Joey Wiemer a few years ago, so I’m all ears on this one.
  15. Rice for Myers or Patrick and Ernesto should be the deal.
  16. I brought this up a few weeks ago. Chastised by Big Red as a laughable offer. It appears many in Milwaukee wouldn’t do it either. Hmmmm… All that said, I’d like to try and do an offer of CRod, Boeve, Lara for Suarez and let someone else beat that offer. Keep Myers and Patrick but be open to dealing CRod who I have below the aforementioned two players, and give them a couple of pretty good positional prospects with CRod. Suarez is a rental . If McMahon goes to NYY for example, we might have the best package with my offer above .
  17. Self explanatory from the title and I wanted to throw this out to the posters as a hypothetical: 1) Suarez - Tobias Myers and Mike Boeve 2) McMahon - Carlos Rodriguez, Luis Lara, Payamps and Peguero (the last two as throw ins for slight salary relief) 3) Do nothing If we are in the final hour before the deadline and you have to pick between these three, which do you choose?
  18. Big Red said they’d laugh at that offer and hang the phone up on us though. :(
  19. We should have a batch of prospects available that will help teams. Black Crod Boeve Wichowski Bitoni Lara maybe. What we will be wanting won’t cost the guys we just don’t want to trade. The team is good as is.
  20. Narrowing the scope looking for your honest opinion, did you not like using Hall and Priester only in a well pitched win today? Secondly, tell me your plans for starters once Cortes rejoins Woodruff as a healthy option and maybe our best (or second best starter). Demote guys? Trade guys? How do you as manager handle it if you don’t like the Hall/Priester method used so well today?
  21. I like the game so far with Hall going three and Priester doing well now. If fully healthy, might this be the way to go team-wide? Peralta Hall-Priester Ashby-Miz Cortes Woodruff-Henderson/Myers This still enables us to deal Quintana in theory while keeping innings down for Miz and Henderson who have been about our best pitchers this year but need their innings watched. Is this something we could pull off successfully? i
  22. I’d do Wichowski, Pratt, Harsden, and Boeve for Abrams. Hang onto: Made/Pena/Quero/Wilken/Adams/Payne/ Letson/Crow/Gasser/Yoho/Hunt at this deadline. Pratt is on this list if we weren’t making this specific trade. Plenty to deal from if you follow this guideline as we have Cortes, Quintana, Payamps, Boeve, Black, Bitoni, Lara, Wichowski, Burke among others that can get us something nice or at least fill a decent sized hole on our roster.
