    Wow. TH threw Weeks under the bus (probably well-deserved) but that takes some guts when you are the team's beat writer. I give him kudos for doing it.

    Ned must be trying to save the bullpen for the Cub series because as usual Suppan is starting to struggle by the 5th inning.

    He's out of my doghouse but is it me or did he look somewhat uncomfortable on the mound tonight? He was shaking his head a few times after he threw a few pitches like something was wrong. Maybe I am nuts because he was pitching fine.

    I hope Weeks can learn how to tag out runners because that is two calls that could have went the Astros way tonight even though the throw was there.

    Hard for me to believe right now that Hart was an all-star. He has been borderline awful the last few weeks.

    I didn't think Bochy looked too mad when he got thrown out of the game but now I think I know how the conversation went with Jim Wolf. "Jim throw me the heck out of this game. My team sucks. Most of my team doesn't have a clue. My pitcher on the mound is pretty good but you clearly are going to squeeze him all night so we have no chance. And by the way, my SS is washed up and the rest of my team is on the can."

    I am sorry but Ned's idea of going with a platoon is absolutely idiotic. How can you tell Dave Bush he can't make his next start after his last four? I know he has struggled on the road but that's beside the point right now. Start McClung and Bush and tell Suppan to skip another start. I don't really nit pick about what Ned does too much because you can always second guess a manager but if this is what he does I will be furious.

    Too bad Braunie couldn't have caught the pop-up as Mauer made Mota pay. Hopefully they can get to Nathan again.

    Fielder is not a great defender at all but it appears Dillion is worse or at the minimum looks very shaky at 1B.

    Food for thought--I am a HS baseball coach. We don't have an aknowledgment sign for the squeeze. You miss it. You suffer the consequences. My thought is that it is way to easy to pick up that type of communication. Honestly, to me it's just a philosophical point. Using one and not using one are both right.

    One, it is an organizational philosophy as other posters have mentioned. The Brewers really don't have any players like (or at least as good) as Casilla and Gomez. Those two players excel on fundamentals. Other players like Morneau and Mauer are different players than Fielder and Braun in that they hit for a high average. Braun may get there and Fielder has raised his average considerably the last month but they don't look for HR's like the Crew does. Secondly, most young players lack quality fundamentals. I think that is a huge part of it. Coaching can help improve those but the athletes I coach have the poor fundamentals when they get to us in high school. Maybe I am wrong in this because both the Crew and Twins have a young roster but I don't get a chance to watch the Twins very much. Many of the Brewers definitely do not excel in this area.

    I said it last night in the IGT but Branyan has been pretty darn good. He carries himself with a quiet professionalism which makes it hard not to root for him. I really hope he continues to do well because that home run last night was pretty darn exciting.

    Looked like a pretty good call. What's the rule at MP with the yellow line? Brewers were quite angry. (Probably didn't matter but if Prince runs out of the box he might have hit an inside-the-park HR.)

    It's hard not to like Branyan this go-around this inning. He carries himself like a true professional and he is producing.

    It was probably a strike to Branyan but Paul Schrieber is a jerk for following him a few steps. The game is not about you dude.

    Second great start in a row by Soup. Last start was marred by Hardy's error. He's looked impressive tonight regardless of the zone. I can't believe a Brave didn't get tossed.

    Obviously Gagne has struggled but should we really be wishing that a player is hurt? Come on folks. We get it. He has struggled mightily but why hope he's injured?

    There is no way this can come off as being a smart allect even though I don't mean it this way but no one in this thread is qualified to correct a MLB player's swing.

    Kendall continues to impress me. He's not a complete stud back there defensively but the best the Crew has had in some time.
