  1. nsimps, My apologies. I totally missed your sarcasm. I actually thought for a second there that you had lost it.
  2. ooooohhhhh....listen to mr. optimism ... next you'll be talking about how the brewers are 10 of thier last 16 ... look out everbody it's mr. realistically-looking-at-our-present-situation ... do you ever get thirsty with your glass always being half-full? ... how is that positive outlook on our season feeling? .... yeah, that's what I thought you one-loss-is-not-going-to-get-me-down schmuck ... you're the reason the terrorists have won. Step away from the ledge. Anybody else feel nsimps is a bit out of line? Wow. Suddenly everybody who has a positive yet realistic outlook is the bad guy. And that last comment about the terrorists... C'mon. Give us a break. Unbelievable.
  3. Good inning for T.O. Now we need to find a way, any way, to score off Vargas.
  4. Is is just me or does JJ take the first two pitches in every at bat? I'm quite certain its just you. He does take a lot of first pitches, though.
  5. goeff had paid for 1700 kids to come to todays game. Geoff's a great guy. Probably the best Brewer in terms of community involvement (and I don't mean just showing up at the nightclubs http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/laugh.gif ). Carlos has some games coming up where he has purchased big numbers of tickets for minority kids from Milwaukee.
  6. To the people actually watching the game (I'm just following along online)... Were there bunt attempts in that at bat?
  7. ChoMo gets it started for the Crew. Let's see if Tomo can bunt.
  8. Jenkins... hot.... Nuff said. If we could just get somebody else going, too. Carlos, I'm looking at you. Overbay is swinging a hot bat. 3-4-5 hot at the same time would be sweet. Maybe that's a pipe dream.
  9. Good start, Tomo. Get some runs early. And often.
  10. Okay, the photo of Jenkins' ankle takes the cake. That is some BAD mojo right there.
  11. I remember when game threads were used for discussing the game. Ahhhhhh, the good ol' days.
  12. I really want to get to that .500 mark on this road trip because in today's landscape if you can be .500 heading into August, Homestand. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  13. It's all good. Win first. Then let's see what the standings say. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Hopefully Cappy can stay on an even keel pitching against his old team. Brandon Webb is not exactly the Brewers type of pitcher. With a bunch of fly ball hitters in the Brewers lineup, a sinker ball pitcher could really give them fits. Score early. Score often.
  14. Magruder hit for Davis... its hard to argue with that move. Were there other players available on the bench? Sure. But if Helms struck out, someone would have wanted Miller. If Miller made an out, someone would have wanted Magruder, etc. If the pinch hitter gets a hit, it goes almost unnoticed. If he makes an out, its an opportunity to rip Yost. Fact is, no matter who pinch hit there, there was at best a 3-in-10 chance it would end in a hit.
  15. I wonder where Wise is today. Maybe he's not available because we pitched him 2 2/3 with an 8 run lead on Thursday. Maybe it's match-ups. Wise was in Milwaukee. His wife just had a baby. My guess is Wise would have been the set up man Yost went with in the 9th, but pitching from Milwaukee is a long throw, especially for a change-up artist.
  16. Where is it more difficult to pitch, Coors or GABP? WIN THE SERIES TODAY!
  17. I'm predicting a 13-11 Brewers victory in a 4 hr 21 minute game.
  18. come on...they're the stinkin reds! Further proof... its tough to sweep any team. I don't care if they are the Little Sisters of the Poor. You're not going to sweep them 4 out of 5 times. Its not going to happen. Go out and try to win the series. That's all anybody could have hoped for anyway.
  19. but 3 errors by Trent is horrible and should not be on the field Maybe we should re-visit the thread where someone said Trent deserved a start at 2nd base. Trent Durrington makes Weeks look like a gold glover.
  20. BTW, if I'm not mistaken, Jenkins' homer was off a lefty.
  21. Wow... I had to step away from my office for about 5 minutes. I come back and learn that Geoff "I'm White Hot" Jenkins just hit home run. For all of you OPS-believers, what happens when Jenkins passes Carlos in your beloved stat? (hopefully it doesn't happen too soon, because that means Carlos has remained relatively cold)
  22. It looks like Wise will be back out there in the seventh, but how about Lehr in the 8th and JDLR in the 9th?
  23. Did I read that correctly?? Matt Wise (or was it Mike Wise) with an RBI single? Wow. A new JJ Hardy. Even his outs are productive now.
