  1. Oh but you have to admit Blue and Gold are waaay better names than One and Two
  2. Martinez, Boeve, Wilken, Black, Clarke are all good internal options that dont cost us anything
  3. Oohhg Brown in the outfield. Thats fun
  4. We're going to need 20-25 spots open to sign all the new draftees right?
  5. Low, Prado, Wagoner, Galindez... Man this hurts
  6. The roster looks amazing. I really hope they win it all in one last hurrah. I understand the need to move but man I really love the Mudcats. Hate that this is the end
  7. The wait for the minor league opening rosters is killing me. I know its only 2 more weeks but I can't wait!!
  8. He's shown excellent OBP skills his entire career (.371, .392 in Biloxi last year) and has some excellent K, BB and whiff rates. He cannot really hit for power (.291 SLG last year) but its not that big of an issue. The problem is he cannot play catcher. His throwing is meh but the receiving and movement are a problem. In the minors its whatever but the glove doesn't play at the Major league level. Joseph and Spencer talked about him in the Biloxi podcast.
  9. Attaboy Wood! If he can start hitting the way he did in Carolina in '23...
  10. Classic Miz experience today. Surprising from Letson though. And what a bomb Anderson. Reaaaaly hoping to see him in Carolina this year but with so many great guys maybe he starts out in the ACL
  11. García up to almost 50 pitches. Is him and Alexander piggy-backinh an option?
  12. Alexander was listed in the minors game vs the Dodgers on Thursday. That makes me think he is fine. My guess is he takes the final rotation spot as we wait for Myers
  13. Yes. I believe I am not being clear so I apologise. Collins, Hicklen, Margot, Oliva, Herron, Warren are all projected to play OF. Clarke and Martinez are projected to play 1B. Black and Bauers can play both. That is 10 guys vying for playing time in 4 positions. Even if Bauers and Margot go and you have an injury or two, there is not enough playing time for everyone that needs it. Black gets priority obviosuly but after him what is the solution? EMJ and Clarke are both good players who are decent in a pinch at other positions (CF and 1B respectively) but who are primarily first basemen. Collins and Warren can play the infield but there's enough of a logjam there with Monasterio, Zamora, Delgado, Wilken, Siegler and Boeve. Hicklen, Oliva and Herron are AAAA players but guys we can't just throw away to protect for injuries. Let me be very clear. This is at the bottom of concerns the Brewers have. I just think it will be fun to see how they will figure it out. Especially because I want the Sounds to have a shot at winning the International League this year,
  14. Agreed. But they gotta do something they can't ride the bench for the entire year and realising all of them leaves us without depth.
  15. The catching situation is interesting. Quero is still not 100% and Siegler is getting some decent time behind the dish. My guess is Quero gets a lot of DH time while he recovers and Alfaro, Siegler, Kahle spread the time something like 50/25/25. I don't know if Alfaro has an opt out. If he does then that simplifies things. I don't think Clarke plays catcher. He's a great option as the emergency guy but not as a primary position. Of 36 games last season he only played 6 at C and they were all in Biloxi. Finding time for Clarke, Martinez and Bauers will be tough especially if Black plays half his games at 1B. You can move them to the OF but then you also have to deal with Hicklen, Margot, Oliva and Herron (Collins can kind of play anywhere). Should be fun
  16. Last season Y-Rod was in the first lineup and he started in Carolina. Ordoñez was in the bench and spent the season in the ACL
  17. No idea why he doesn't show up on the game notes but Spain played vs Colorado (Feb 23), Cincy (Mar 3), and the White Sox (Mar 5). He's gone 0-3 with a K. Source
  18. No surprises thus far. Would've liked to see Pratt, EMJ and Jay get more time in big league camp but oh well
  19. 112 v the Giants in 2022
  20. An hour-ish before the game I believe
  21. C- Contreras 1B-Hoskins 2B-Turang SS- Ortiz 3B- Dunn LF-Chourio CF- Mitchell RF- Frelick DH- Yelich Bench-Haase, Capra, Canha, Durbin SP- Freddy, Myers, Cortes, Civale, Quintana RP- C. Thomas Hudson, Peguero, Mears, Ashby SU- Koenig, Payamps CP- Megill I think the starting lineup is pretty much set except for who the starter us between Dunn and Durbin. The bench is tough, Haase makes it no doubt. Whoever isn't starting from Durbin/Dunn. Canha I think is the best option for 5th OF because Margot was really poor last season and both Collins and Hicklen seem to be more AAAA depth guys. Capra has no options and has performed really well so I think we see him. After him I think we start seeing Monasterio/Black/Collins/Siegler/etc. If Ashby is hurt then I'm going with Alexander
  22. Yup. Middendorf's throw was awful but an MLB caliber 1st baseman would've gotten the pick. Even then he kept in it front but man that throw was just hideous. The run was probably scoring but he should've at least put that within the reach of Haase Everyone has a stellar play in them from time to time. Even Luke Voigt. What Black lacks is the ability to consistently make the routine plays.
