  1. Gave us a no-hitter, a Cy Young, several years of great performances and Joey/DL Hall. Didnt love his personality but he was an alright guy in my book. Hmmm fair enough. I only like the Brewers too. I dont mind the D-backs lol
  2. Amazing work guys. I have a buunch of questions about the Shuckers, 1. Thoughts on the catching situation? Wood and Miller are subpar receiversr, how might his affect the pitching staff? Who do you think ends up in Nashville if Quero goes to the bigs? Can Miller handle AAA? 2. How do you think Burke will do if/when he goes to Biloxi? 3. Who stays in third and who goes to first between Adams and Boeve? Do they split time? 4. O'Rae has no power and struggled a lot in Biloxi last season. Does Areinamo jump him in the depth chart? How would you rank those 2? 5. What's next for Brock Wilken? Do you see him improving? What will happen to his defensive position? Can he stick at 3B? 6. What to do at SS? Brown is a former 1st rounder but he looks lost at AA. Casey Martin is not much better. Eduardo Garcia has done well, does he have a role to play? How do you think Pratt will do? 7. Can Lara make it to AA and perform well? What do you think the rest of the outfield will look like? 8. The rotation looks amazing. Who do you think will be the standout? Can KC Hunt go to AAA? Can Wichrowski improve? 9. If Yeager and Holub go to AAA, who is the new closer? I think that's it. Sorry if its too much.
  3. Happy for Corbin. He got his bag, deservedly so. Also happy he went to the D-backs. I like them.
  4. Murphy has commented on Black's defensive struggles at third, and its one of the first criticisms sites like BA and Fangraphs offer. I watched a lot of Shuckers baseball in 2023 and he didn't look great. Awkward moving side to side, which is quite shocking being am athletic guy as you correctly pointed out. I haven't seen him play much first but he generally doesn't look comfortable in the infield. Im sure @Joseph Zarr and @Spencer Michaelis can give you better, more detailed insight. But generally speaking wherever he plays his defense will be a detriment
  5. I'll air a grievance just to keep the game thread tradition going. LVN really concerns me. Its not even that stupid special teams penalty. He struggles to make an impact in games and it looks like Cox has surpassed him in the depth chart. I'm not saying he is ****/washed, etc but I don't like the way he is trending. In all seriousness though, hard to have a grievance when you are up 24-0
  6. Zayne Anderson! Got a chance to play and took it. Good for the kid.
  7. I do not understand the attention the idea of moving Civale is getting. Last year, ignoring openers (Koening, Hoby, Rob-Z), we had 14 different guys start a game. Of those guys, 7 (Miley, Rea, Montas, Ross, Wilson, Keuchel and Junis) are no longer in the team. Myers performed spectacularly and I wholeheartedly wish he will keep it up but he has some concerning peripherals and Statcast numbers. Woodruff is coming back from a really tough injury and might never be the same. Hall and Ashby have struggled BAD as starters. Gasser probably won't pitch well again until at least July. C-Rod might not be ready yet, and there is no telling Henderson/Misiorowski/Patrick will perform in the bigs. Civale is a guy who will give us a solid, if unspectacular, 4.00 ERA with an average K% and above average BB%. He gives up a bit too many homers but can generally keep them to solo blasts. Why are we rushing to get rid of him? He is a solid piece that helps strengthen the back-end of the rotation. The Civale trade conversation should be held in June. Then we will have a better understanding of the state of the rotation. We dont want to trade him and end up relying Bruce Zimmermann or Thomas Pannonne for starts because the rotation got injured and the young guys werent ready.
  8. Man, MLF thats not s great challenge. Maybe we get lucky but I highly doubt it
  9. What a series for Enagbare
  10. Attaboy Valentine! Take the touchback though lol
  11. It was 100% but the general comment still stands
  12. Once again awful time management. Cant be burning timeouts like that. Its one of MLF's biggest weaknesses
  13. Im ok with this. Would've liked more but this is fine. Rotation looks solid with Cortes. The infield is interesting. Durbin has played some SS but looks more like a 3B or 2B. Do we move Turang (who has a plat glove), do we try Durbin at SS and Ortiz 3B or viceversa? Im guessing we'll see a mix of configurations in spring training.
  14. Honestly just glad it wasn't the Dodgers. Good for Willy
  15. Agreed. Maybe changing the height of the mound from 10 inches to 7 could be interesting.
  16. Agreed 100%. After the Watson drop go get a new set of downs and go from there. 3 is more than 0
  17. Oh J-Love. At least it was a free play but oh man
  18. Oh Walker you need to have that
  19. Good defensive drive. Keep it up
  20. Would be cool if they would use the Mudcats as an alternate identity
  21. Imagine if a 35 year old Tyrod Taylor outpeformed Rodgers
