Before I advocate for Yoho I want to get through G and W Anderson, Easton McGee, García and Jay. Edit: woops forgot Bukauskas is injured again. I think
Oh and C-Rod pitched a gem in Nashville yesterday.
That's not what I said. I agree with sending Yoho to AAA.
1. Preserve depth. DFAing guys is not the move right now with so many injured/below replacement level guys on the roster.
2. Service time. Manipulating it sucks for the players. Absolutely. But those are the rules of the game and the only way we can stay competitive. Yoho looks like the next star closer and we need to keep him for as long as possible
So its looking like firs 4 in the rotation to start will be Peralta, Civale, Cortes, Patrick. Number 5 is a question mark. I dont trust Rodriguez to start so maybe some sort of Alexander-Thomas piggyback? Maybe Koenig for an inning or two and then give the ball to Alexander/Thomas/Rodriguez for 3-4?
I don't put much stock on spring numbers. Only two exceptions for this are prospects (good to see how they perform vs big leaguers) and fringe roster guys. (your Capras and Garcías who are competing for the last place on the pen/bench).
McKendry with a really rough inning. 30 pitches, only one out, 6 runs and a grand slam to Julio Rodríguez.
And Bowman, who's had a really great spring thus far, comes in and immediately surrenders a homer to Raleigh and a double to Arozarena
