  1. Yeah I know and its probably more of a roster construction move but it still sucks. This knee thing doesn't sound great. I'm worried that if he pitches through it, as he says he plans to, he will continue to struggle, or worse, aggravate the injury. The PRP injection would keep him out until september
  2. Not enough innings to be ranked but those statcast numbers for Elisier are just ugly. Fastball lacking velo or IVB from what I can see. Slider seems nothing special and changeup consistently ranked as among the worst in baseball. Hopefully we squeeze a couple of clean innings out of him. The DL Hall news suck. Especially after he was so close to coming back. I hope he comes back in time for September.
  3. Meeker pitched yesterday and Wednesday. They probably just want a fresh arm for some garbage innings during the weekend. I guess either him or Myers go down on Tuesday morning.
  4. That deep double by Rhys would have been a homer in AmFam
  5. Don't get me wrong I love Meeker and I respect his journey from indy to MLB but I never in a million years would have guessed he would be up by early June. These injuries are devastating.
  6. All of this plus possibly Gasser now. I know there was not enough work done on the rotation in the offseason but seriously who could have seen this coming? Who's next after Gasser? Chad Patrick? Ashby? C-Rod? Can Junk or Stallings eat innings?
  7. Me either. Gettem tomorrow. Don't waste the pen today
  8. You give up a homer to Dahl??? Come on Bryse lock in
  9. Appeared in only 1 game with the Orioles. 0 IP, 1 H, 4 BB, 3 ER. Has now been DFA'd.
  10. Yeah exactly. His stuff is elite but he doesn't get deep into games. And he also seems to lose his composure too often.
  11. Peralta is a good number 2. 4th in K/9, 49th BB/9, 50th HR/9, 51st ERA, 37th xERA, 28th in FIP, 28th fWAR, 25th WHIP, 8th SIERA, 14th Hard%. Not an ace or 1B type, but a good guy you can rely on most of the times. Even when he stuggles he gives his team a chance to win, In 12 starts (today included) he has given up more than 3 ER twice. Averages 5 2/3 IP per game. He is a great pitcher. at least top 40 in the league. Considering there are roughly 150 starting pitchers in the big leagues, that is really good. We were spoilt with Burnes and Woody as 1A and 1B and Freddy is not them, but lets not undervalue him
  12. 15-12 I agree
  13. Oh come on. Thats the game right there
  14. Milner got unlucky and coulnd't strand the runners but damn 4 straight K's
  15. Good fastball with slightly above average speed, elite vertical break. His release doesn't help him use it as well as he could but it is a good pitch. A good cutter with late cut that plays well off his fastball. A strong slider with good vertical movement and limits hard contact. If only he could not hang those pitches
  16. Myers has some good stuff but he hangs his pitches waaaaay to much. He will never consolidate himself as a big leaguer until he can play on the edges, especially at 0-2
  17. Man Maldonado just sucks. He used to be great defensively but nowadays he is below average at basically all defensive metrics. At least Jeff Mathis was a good defender.
  18. Played in 75 of his team's 114 games. 678 innings, 60 wins, a 1.38 ERA, 440 Ks, only 18 homers, 0.922 WHIP. Pitched every single inning of the three games in the Providence Grays' sweep over the Mets in the World Series, allowing no earned runs. Old baseball is funny
  19. Milner, Koenig, Perkins, Monasterio, Wilson, Peguero, Payamps. All guys who were seen as not good enough for MLB and that have been solid contributors over the past two years. Proven players are the best choice, sure, but they are expensive and can also backfire (Winker?). The way to go for small market teams is a healthy mix
