  1. Yeah, I'm not overly excited about this move. It provides a little extra depth and not much else, it seems.
  2. The team is 11 games over .500. I'm definitely giving Yost my support for now. I can't believe there are still people that call into the local sports stations demanding that Yost be fired. At this point in the season, what would that possibly accomplish?
  3. I would have liked to see Sheets' RBI double, but oh well. I lived.
  4. Also, I was pleased/amused to see Tim "Zeus" Lister make a sort of cameo appearance as a prisoner.
  5. I'm not that familiar with the minors, but couldn't Salome just be getting the day off? I wouldn't know.
  6. "Trilogy?" I'm thinking they'll milk this thing for more than three movies if they can at all. Saw it this afternoon and loved it. To be honest, I thought it got a bit long towards the end, but appreciate where they went with the story.
  7. I'm guessing he definitely wasn't on "the juice" last year and still played pretty well. I'm not advocating anyone pick him up...he's probably my least favorite player of all time, second only to Gary Sheffield. Just saying...
  8. Sounds like a pretty close thing, if not already done. Awesome.
  9. Yeah...weird how Krispy Kreme went from being a rare treat to completely over saturating the market, seemingly overnight.
  10. Ratings equal ad revenue. The ratings on a national broadcast network are a lot more valuable than the ratings on a regional sports channel.
  11. A package of Street and Duchscherer would be amazing, but would probably cost way too much.
  12. Will there at least be one of those condensed game things on FSN tonight?
  13. Yeah, I hate that. "I'm saving this whole row for my friends." "Uh...no you're not."
  14. Hehe...I wouldn't hold your breath on that one.
  15. Hardee's has changed so much I don't recognize it anymore (they got bought out by Carl's Jr. some time ago and changed their menu a lot). Now it seems like a weird hybrid of Burger King and A&W. The burgers are big, but don't seem very flavorful. There is a Del Taco now in Janesville. They actually brought back that big ceramic cow that used to be along the side of the road as you were coming in from Milton. I haven't had the chance to try it since whenever I get to Janesville, my wife is with me, and she's not big on fast food tacos. I like to get Taco John's every once in a while...I just wish they didn't water down their cheese sauce so much. Personally, I much prefer Culver's to any other fast food joint around this area, as far as burgers. Darn...I'm hungry now. Have to find a decent place that delivers around here.
  16. They used to have a Steak & Shake in Janesville. I had it once and didn't really care for it. Didn't seem bad, just pretty mediocre.
  17. Well, the other thing is that the Twins have been on quite a tear lately. It's not like they're scuffling by and obviously need another starter.
  18. Am I crazy, or didn't he end up actually getting less than what the Brewers offered him to re-sign? I seem to remember hearing that his agent basically misjudged the market.
  19. KC is getting one soon? That's kind of cool, since they play in a slightly older stadium, although one that has been updated quite a bit.
  20. I'll probably catch the first three or four innings of the game Friday before I fall asleep.
  21. I just don't know...you'd think teams would shy away from such long term high dollar contracts for pitchers, since they almost always seem to backfire. I'm sure some team will get stupid and pony up, though.
  22. Kind of sad to see. I always liked "The Tornado." He had a successful career, though, and I'm sure his kids are set for life.
  23. I have my doubts that Uecker is that big of a jerk like everyone is claiming (though I base this on nothing). I think he is probably a fairly private person, based on what I've heard, and isn't the kind of type to just strike up a conversation with anybody. And hey, if he wants to get tanked at a dinner, I say that's fine with me. He's earned the right.
  24. The thing about Pabst is interesting, but also brings up the point that Miller does a ton of contract brewing in Milwaukee. They do a lot of Sam Adams product, if I'm not mistaken.
