  1. Joseph, thought I would give you an update since Justin was released. Justin landed in the Marlins organization and is playing with Pensacola. Doing very well. Glad to see the Schucker’s doing so well in the second half!
  2. I may be a little bias being his father, but it was a bit of a surprise. No speculations, good hard working kid that loves the game. Had a great spring training and start at Biloxi. Velocity fell a bit which hurt, put into a situation in one game with bases loaded and was not hot expecting to pitch but thrown in. We were in Biloxi for his last outing, threw 97/98 and looked very good and the last three games had his velocity back and slider working. Unfortunately, 9 ERA and needing to make room, he got caught in the numbers. Looking forward to seeing him sign with another organization. Fresh arm, learning quick, he will be an asset somewhere. All the best to the BrewCrew!
  3. Interesting comment from the broadcast is they said King had 21" of rise on his fastball, not sure how accurate that would be, but that is a lot of movement for a fastball. Could be a significant reason for Kings high strikeout ratio.
  4. Some really impressive outings from the Shuckers bullpen early in the year. Will see if it continues as batters get more reps in and begin to figure out the pitchers. IF shuckers can gain that early lead, this impressive bullpen of Meeker, the two Smiths, King, Yeager, and Gardner are showing they can hold it.
  5. It is too bad that all the stats from spring training are not provided. Here is a summary of the data from just the pitching while called up to the Brewers Games during spring training. The interesting stat is the Opportunity/Quality stat for each of the pitchers you reference. I could not see any stats for Darrell Thompson?
  6. I really like King who appears to be under the radar for most. Was selected to represent at the Arizona Fall league in 2023. Spring training, since pitching live, has faced 10 batters with no hits, no walks and 6 k's. Last year, King fanned 54 batters in 31 innings of work. Last night, against the White Sox, King looked to have great control topping at 98 mph having a 3 up 3 down closing inning with 2 k's. Brewers need more depth with LHP, King is a good addition to the farm system. D18A3C46-7A41-4153-9B78-5A246978949C (1).MOV
  7. Gardner just arrived in Phoenix a day or so ago so still getting his break. King pitched live last Thursday (4 batters (2 big leaguers) with 2 k’s, a pop up and ground ball to the SS. He pitched an inning today (March 4) in scrimmage with 3 up and 3 down 2 k’s. Have not seen anything on Knarr yet.
  8. King was able to throw live yesterday sitting at 96 mph. Struck out 2, infield pop up and a ground ball to the shortstop. looking good early season.
  9. I think Justin King would be an interesting reliver to watch. Really an underutilized raw left arm (only his second year pitching) throwing 95-97. Makes me wonder what his ceiling is as he gets stronger and more confident as a pitcher.
