I know he was out but that at bat by Frelick is just insane especially for a rookie. He fouled off some pitches that were already in the glove.

I wonder if they’d put Black at first if 3rd doesn’t work out. Yeah, at first I thought they were just ok additions, but I’ve come to really like having Cantanha on the team….

Does anyone think the crew will pick up Canha’s option next year? When the trade first happened I figured it was just for the playoff run and they wouldn’t spend that much on him next year. But now seeing how solid he is and even though he’s not a great defender, he is versatile which they covet. I’m not sure. Anyone?

And even if it was tie goes to the runner they’re never gonna overturn unless it’s much more obvious.

I know Burnes changed his slider earlier in the year, but it kinda looks like he finally got the feel for it down. He’s locating well.

For some reason I really enjoyed watching that guy throw warm up pitches with his hat off.

The crew hasn’t had a professional batsman like that in a while and damnit I like it.

I love that approach so much I really hope Turang keeps trying to do stuff like that more as he’s seeing how it works from Frelick.

I think Corbin wanted Lane Thomas to know he won’t be dominating the crew anymore. He looked angry after that strikeout.

And when the season started this year I thought he looked bigger than last year! Now it’s kinda absurd. I will never fat shame someone I just think when you’re as big he is it’s not conducive to playing well. I mean like how big his chest and belly are could maybe even be impacting his swing path. There are only so many guys like Prince Fielder and my guy Dimitri Young who can do it for sustained periods.

I remember that vividly and remember thinking maybe they should just use Caratini with him all the time. And that worked. But I’m also thinking, Burnes stuff just wasn’t right at the beginning of the year. Maybe Burnes now will be fine with Contreras. Let’s hope :) Come to think of it….wasn’t Caratini Yu Darvish’s personal catcher for a couple years?

I presume if Burnes seems less comfortable or pitches poorly tonight, they will go back to Caratini. This probably the right time to try it.

Weimer made a pitiful out on the bases last night that showed profound stupidity and lack of instincts. Last week he had a base stolen but he slid poorly and his foot dug into the ground and he was out. Outside of defense he just doesn’t do anything right. Mitchell is a much smarter player and base runner I would say.

Haha that’s so dope that you legit thought this was Matt Stairs. And who could blame you? Same facial hair and overall look, Vogt’s just about 65 to 70 pounds lighter :)

What a joyous night :) I’ve been thinking for a while the Cubs peaked too early, and I’m enjoying seeing them come back down to earth.
