  1. Didn’t have the chance to post today while at work, but…..The SANCHIZE!!!!!
  2. Yeah whats intriguing is I think the bullpen will only get better too. I mean obviously Williams, but trading guys like Junis for White, or if they put Hall in the bullpen and just let him go. I mean, look out!
  3. Good article. Just to be clear - Payamps hasn’t really “struggled”. He pitched poorly around his long layoff. But he is firmly entrenched in the Brewers plans this year, and most likely beyond as he is still controllable. It would be shocking to see him let go of mid season. He would most likely have to perform pitifully for over a month straight. I mean, we saw how long of a leash Vieira got…. For some reason a lot of fans seem to underestimate how high the Brewers are on Payamps, and how high they have been on him for several years. They had wanted to acquire him long before they did, and he has pitched admirably ever since.
  4. I agree with those sentiments entirely.
  5. Bauers has proven over his major league career that he’s…..not a major league player. His one strength of first base defense is mitigated with him in the outfield. His strike out rate is unsustainable. Chourio is twenty, 1000 times more talented, and a better outfield defender. He needs to play through ups and downs to get better, not be benched for a replacement level player. Furthermore he was starting to take pitches very well and was raising his batting average in the week before this benching. How Chourio has performed in his first month as the youngest player in the league should not merit a knee jerk reaction to an almost week long benching. He is known for making fantastic and effective adjustments throughout his career. Bauers is…..not known for that.
  6. This Bauers and Dunn fetish has to stop. One thing Counsell always did was interrupt hitters’ rhythms. As soon as someone gets going they sat inexplicably. As stated on this thread, Chourio was starting to put together some really good at-bats, now he mysteriously gets four games off while Frelicks’ at bats look more pathetic by the day, and this soft platoon with Ortiz is downright maddening. Looks like Murph inherited some bad habits from Counsell.
  7. The Sanchize!! Bad send on bad lead/baserunning for Dunn. Tired of him playing over Ortiz.
  8. They want their players to run. I guess they could be sending everyone else but him? I doubt that. There’s no way Willy should have more stolen bases than him.
  9. Does anyone have any idea why Frelick refuses to attempt stolen bases this year? This catcher literally is unable to throw guys out. He only gets on first due to weak power and walks, why is he refusing to use his speed on a team that encourages it.
  10. I for one am keenly looking forward to seeing what 7-10 starts a piece look like for Gasser and Myers. If Junis does indeed come back to the bullpen, perhaps they can stretch him out slowly if need be. Its really a bummer about Rodriguez so far this year. Would have loved to see him take that next step and be available for spot starts. He still may yet.
  11. Man the Brewers normally don’t do this; try to fix something that isn’t broke. I really can’t see any reason why they forbade him from throwing a four seam 5% of the time and upping it to 20% of time with two strikes. It just seems like such a strange thing to eliminate.
  12. Have been wanting to this talked about because it’s so absurd. Thank you for addressing it. Another frustrating development is that his slider has gone from a plus pitch that sat in the mid to high eighties to a poor looking pitch that hardly has any velo separation from his curveball. He’s also commanded his slider pitifully. How can he just lose shape and speed to that effect literally overnight? His curve has looked good, and at times his changeup has too. Thats about it….
  13. That would be so dope if Rea outperformed Burnes tomorrow. I’d love to see Burnes have one of his mini temper tantrums.
  14. This homeplate ump has been shamelessly helping the Brewers today.
  15. They have both always been guys who sit in the mid to high nineties. They just need to get back up to their talent level to perform as expected. Ashby will get up to at least mid nineties soon as he is working his way back from injury. Hall has no excuse for throwing 91-93,94. He will not have success that way. Hopefully as the weather warms up he’ll gain a couple mph.
  16. I have to say, these last 3-4 games have been some of my favorite in recent memory. Just the certainty with which they play. I also have to say, and I’m not necessarily complaining, that this ump has favored the Crew to a near absurd amount today. I’m surprised Baltimore isn’t chirping more at him.
  17. The entire team has a higher ops than probably any player under the last four years of the Counsell area. And yea, I think it has a lot to do with him not having influence anymore.
  18. Yeah and I’m tired of these announcers trying to say Willy brings an aggressive edge or whatever. He’s like the nicest most friendly guy in the league, Mccann tried to talk down to him and point in his chest for no specific reason and Willy didn’t back down? Great, as he shouldn’t have. But why aren’t they talking about Mccanns inexplicable behavior?
  19. It seems like its going to clear up late in the evening tomorrow. You don’t think they’ll just wait til then instead of reschedule? I’m hoping they stick it out.
  20. Is anyone else confused that Ortiz, who is supposed to be a defensive wizard at short, can’t make good throws from third? I mean this is getting ridiculous how often he is spiking it.
  21. I’m seriously starting to get pissed about these throws. It like Contreras said, stop letting De La Cruz and other guys scaring you into bad throws. Especially for a veteran leader like Adames who has a hose. Fortunate Haskins wasn’t playing.
