  1. The Yankees brutal list is up, Betances 3rd overall ? yuck www.baseballamerica.com/t...62804.html
  2. Manny's got it going today, 5 k's and no BB through 3 4 hits, no runs
  3. www.signonsandiego.com/un...adres.html Just briefly metioned as one of the teams.
  4. My hope will again be for a strong armed college righthander. Although I know history says there is no way the Brewers take one. I'm just starting to feel that this next 3-4 year window can not be missed, and if we can find an Anthony Reyes type guy that could be a piece to the 2008 or 2009 seasons, that's great. That being said, I'm a huge fan of Rogers, Gallardo, Braun, Jeffress and Brewer and hope that at least a couple of them reach that high ceiling.
  5. I have a couple quick questions if you don't mind Colby (or anyone who has an opinion). How does David Price compare right now to Andrew Miller one year ago. And is Wieters sure to stay at catcher ? If we knew right now that hw would be a LFer or 1st baseman, would his bat still be top 5 pick good ? thanks
  6. Anyone have info on Alixxon Cequea ? I could'nt find any
  7. Some recent # 7 picks Clayton Kershaw Troy Tulo Homer Bailey Nick Markakis Prince Chris Smith Matt Harrington Kyle Snyder Austin Kearns some nice names there, and their have been the Weavers and Drews(Boras types) that are usually passed on by a handful of teams
  8. Last week I picked up The Roots new one Game Theory, probably 4-5 tracks that are vintage Roots stuff, I'd say 3 out of 5. Two weeks ago picked up Mo' Mega buy Mr. Lif, all production by El-P from Company Flow and Cannibal Ox fame, and tons of other remixes and stuff on Def Jux records. This record has about 6 tracks that are outstanding and maybe 4 that are so so. I'd call this 3 1/2, almost 4 out of 5
  9. My guess is if there has only been 1 or maybe 2 HS hitters taken, and 7-10 college pitchers taken by our pick, we're going HS hitter. Unless for the first time someone above Jack Z weighs heavily on the decision, and we go for the safer college arm.
  10. I think what Jack's been trying to do in most cases is hit the home run. To find a guy with huge upside, that the Brewers can sign, and that may have the potential to be a star Major Leaguer. All of our first rounders have been that, as well as guys like Eric Thomas (although taking guys that are already injured is a bit much). What I've been wondering for some time is if you sign 30 or more guys a year, for 5-6 years, a couple should be able to stumble to the bigs, when do player development people (Ried Nichols) come into question ?
  11. With the Brewers not having to pay top 5 pick money this year, and our second pick falling to around 60, I think I'd like to see us use that second rounder to overpay for a HS player that has dropped b/c of a strong college commit. The Dodgers and Mariners do it every year, and get that lame warning from MLB about slot money. Any high ceiling HS players that jump out ? ( I know it's way early)
  12. Colby, thanks so much for putting that together, i've done the same thing very loosely the last couple of years, but this is a great reference. Two things, it's funny the year you did this BA makes the disclaimer that this 06 list is less consensus than many in recent years, and, they drop Miller to # 2 just weeks after the Royals say they want the best arm available, and were already getting heat for going w/a budget pick in 06!
  13. Nice outing from former big prospect Brett Evert, am I wrong or has he put together some nice showings lately ?
  14. Colby (or anyone), how does Bruce's bat at this point compare to Daric Barton and Neil Walker's at the same stage?
  15. Correct me if I'm wrong but don't the Brewers run a showcase in California ( area code games ?), who were some of the big names on those Brewer organized teams that would be in the 2005 draft ? thanks
  16. Don't forget we do not have a 2nd round pick, that means around $900,000 extra from a normal years budget, I think if ever there was a year to go Boras, this is it, it seems there will be a real premium talent available at # 5
  17. The team USA lhp does not seem to be rated as an elite prospect for 05, where does he project to go in June ? any ideas Colby ?
  18. does anyone (colby) have any more info on hs ss Brandon Wood ? he seems to follow in the Hardy, Murray trend if we are indeed considering him
