  1. Here comes a Jenkins sac fly to take the lead
  2. 'Cept Wise has proven that he cannot pitch well in back to back days, and certainly not 3 days in a row. I don't want the Brewers to be caught down the stretch or in the playoffs without someone in addition to Wise. Having said that, if they do have "wiggle room", I prefer they use a huge chunk of that to sign Cordero beyond this year, if possible
  3. I think a number of things (imagine that?) If the Crew is truely in the race at the Deadline, they absolutely need to add an arm or two for the bullpen, and ideally a great bat for the line-up (I'm talking about a Carlos Lee size bat at the very least, someone to play RF or 3B if Braun isn't ready yet) Now, Braun and Gallardo might provide the bat and arm but that is a stretch to expect from such young players on their first trip through the show, and Gallardo is a starter not a reliever. Ask yourself, are you comfortable with Matt Wise as your only 7th inning guy in a playoff series? Are you comfortable with only Dessens and Villeneuva as your middle inning guys in a playoff series? I think Al is right: Gross might be a trade possibility. A package of Gross, Capellan, Zach Jackson and a single A pitcher might bring a Big Bat or a few of those guys might bring a top bullpen arm
  4. I think management expects Braun to be up by the Break or Deadline if the Brewers are in the chase, and talking about "adding another bat" if needed would be in addition to Braun.
  5. I hope Gabe Gross will be starting in this game
  6. Yes indeed. Seemed like in recent years, games almost as bad as this were a weekly occurence, so I'm thankful for the way the Crew has played this year... Just how bad can Braun's arm be? I agree with others, we need his bat sooner rather than later
  7. On the plus side: the "Rant Thread" will be entertaining tonight
  8. Can we call up Ben Hendrickson in time to finish this game? At this point I'd allow Spurling to pitch as long as he can, I wouldn't want to waste any of our MLB arms on this disaster
  9. Spurling is a AAAA pitcher at best. We need more arms. Help us out Uncle Doug This game got real ugly real quick
  10. Great win, on the road... gotta love it
  11. Lee .253 21 RI's 5 HR's Menchkins @ .354 17 RBI's, 5 HR's + Cordero Point, Doug Melvin
  12. Anything but a no-hitter is unacceptable.
  13. Texas/Louisiana, he's from the South, OK? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif Thanks for the correction. So...like... is there gonna be baseball this afternoon, or what?
  14. I fully expect Sheets to have many excellent games this year. Not sure if a cold rainy day in Chicago for the Big Kid from Texas will be one of them, but I don't think opening day was his peak.
  15. 13-7!!!! What a great start to the season Tommorow will likely be rained out.
  16. They are being used properly. Mench flat out rakes against left-handers and Jenkins hits well vs Righthanders
  17. Gotta like Pinella delaying the game, allowing more rain to fall. Thanks Lou... Nice hit by Rickie
  18. If Prince ever needs a hobby, he'd make one heckuva Middle Line Backer in the NFL
  19. The make-up calls from last night have already begun
  20. I 'spose one of the things that made me do a double-take as far as age is realizing that there are so many players in MLB today (Fielder, Griffey, Gwynn, Cruz, Bonds etc) whose Dads I watched play as a kid...
  21. My favorite player as a kid, Eddie Murray, is retired and in the Hall of Fame right now (and #9 All-Time in RBI's). At the age of 41, I can't say I'm feeling "old", but I'm just now starting to feel like a grown-up http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/wink.gif
  22. I think it is mostly one-sided. The Cubs' rivals are the Cardinals. The Cubs fans look at the Brewers like any other divisional rival, same way we look at, say, the Pirates or Reds
