  1. It's looking like rain in Chicago tonight. I wonder if they are even going to be able to get this one in? I want to watch my Brewers tonight, but I don't mind allowing the bullpen (and Estrada) an extra day's rest
  2. "I said, 'Look, this is your game to win or lose, so you might as well stand out here, get on the attack, get after these guys and win a ball game,'"Yost said."'If you can hold them, we'll score you a run.' That is the mark of a great Manager. After tonight, I'm done criticizing Yost for a good long while.
  3. +1. This was definitely not a "Same Old Brewers" type of game.
  4. Braun is "only" Slugging .769? When is he gonna break out of that slump?
  5. The Crew is now 5-3 on the road so far this season. This is the kind of win that can really build the confidence of a young team
  6. Estrada "day to day". Do they bring up a Catcher from Nashville for a few days?
  7. Huge win! I thought Ned Yost did an incredible job of managing tonight.
  8. D'oh! OK, I realize now that he's in Extended Spring Training and will be in Helena this June I don't suppose anyone knows how he's looking in EST or how he looked in ST
  9. I searched for a thread on Jeffress, didn't see anything. I apologize if I missed it. How is he looking? I'm thinking the kid has great potential. I'm wondering where I can find his Stats for this season.
  10. Love the pictures you chose. Thank you
  11. +1. Nice to see them extend their bullpen a bit in the process too. Soriano doesn't look anywhere close to 100% either. He was really limping around the bases
  12. Really? I'm surprised at that one. Woulda thought it'd be Hall pulled. (Hall did have a great game with the glove today. And the bat.)
  13. I'm looking forward to tonight's Red Sox-Yankees game. I haven't seen Matsuzaka (sp?) yet and this will be my first chance. He's 1-2 with a 2.70 ERA so far
  14. We've got rules here against personal attacks. Calling someone an "idiot" isn't cool... I personally don't have a problem with Yost today. I could see pulling Bush after the walk but I'm pretty sure Yost didn't want to have to have to use Co-Co today if he didn't have to... I found it curious that when Gwynn came in he was at RF and Gross was moved to CF? Is Gross a better CF than Gwynn? Either way, I liked that double switch
  15. I'll take a win any way we can get it. A 4-1 homestand and 11-7 overall and 1st place is pretty sweet after the first 18 games. Is it safe to say that Cordero won't be available tommorow? Pretty good chance of rain in Chicago tommorow night anyways.
  16. Huge game. A true must-win game. I'm kidding of course, but 11-7 would look so much better than 10-8
  17. If it comes down to Yost leaving, either through being fired or hired somewhere else (hey it could happen! Atlanta maybe? Cox can't last forever...), Cooper would certainly be a logical finalist for the job.
  18. One of the (many) things that I love about MLB is that after a tough loss there is always another game the next day.
  19. If A-Rod were signed for 3-4 years, absolutely I'd give up Sheets and Hall for him. A-Rod could easily hit 60 a year in Miller Park, but as Al points out no way do you trade for 1 year of A-Rod No chance
  20. Dare I say it: I'm sitting here wondering if Cecil Cooper would be a better manager than Yost.
  21. See, that right there is exactly the point! It is not just how Yost used his relief pitchers tonight, it is the whole picture, the way that game to game he misuses his pen
  22. I understand that, and I agree. And this is exactly why I cannot understand having Capellan in AAA. I know Capellan is not lights out all the time but I sincerely believe that he is the 3rd best relef pitcher in the Brewers organization right now. Good Lord, without Cordero this team would be strictly a .500 ballclub at best. Wise is only good for an inning every other day. Even Turnbow can look pretty shakey out there. Right now the bullpen is our achilles heel. Melvin needs to make a couple moves. One is to admit they were wrong and bring up Capellan. The other is to trade an Outfielder for a relief pitcher, I believe
  23. Cordero and Turnbow were both warming up and available. Tie game in the 9th, man on base, at home, you go with one of your top two pitchers I'm concerned about this team building all the way up to a World Series contender and then having a manager who is clueless in the clutch. It is, (i believe) a legit concern
  24. Maybe we can send Yost to the Minors for a few games to work on how to handle pitchers
  25. Gotta pin this one on Ned. Go to. Absolutely. Why go with Aquino in that situation. That is one game Ned has cost us this season. We'll add 'em up and see where we are at, at the end of the season
