  2. Emulation, how? I don't remember Macha running through 5 pitchers an inning or goading anyone into a beanball war. If by "emulation" they mean "learning how better to score more runs and limit runs given up", then yes, we're copycats.
  3. I added a couple of comments to that blog. The whole thing's just stupid. All they need to do to not see those horrible, disrespectful brewers untuck their jerseys is win a game for once. (Except for TLR), I've always pulled for the Cards because I enjoy the city and (generally) think that they have the best and most knowledgeable fans in the game. I know there's always a few bad apples, but when the TEAM starts spazzing out about it, it's just too much. At some point the small-market aspect of the Brewers will catch up, and we'll have to go through a rebuilding phase again. Then, StL can lay down some cardboard and breakdance after victories all they want.
  4. Doesn't 5% of the entire U.S. population act like thugs when they're thoroughly trashed anyway? I fail to see how this is a Brewers problem. It's a general d-bag problem.
  5. I'm shocked and astounded.
  6. When I was down in Nashville, they were shooting hot dogs into the crowd from cannons. A guy next to me caught one. I asked him how it tasted, and his reply was "like it got shot out of a cannon".
  7. http://twitter.com/brewerfandotnet ...because twitter is so HOT right now.
  8. Wow, they lineup card is totally misspelled. It should say "3B Mat Gamel".
  9. Hey, I'm from SoCal.... Southern Caledonia.
  10. CHW has three things going against them: 1) A small stadium 2) An AL team 3) They're really not very good Peavy probably thinks (and correctly so) that a better situation will come along.
  11. TGJ was worth more to organizations AFTER he made it to AAA. Now, the Pads have until the end of the year to cut him loose or add him to the 40-man. But yeah, I still think the deal favors the Brewers from a value perspective.
  12. Hey, we just drafted 0.75 years of Jody Gerut for a ~2M signing bonus in the 2nd round!
  13. Yeah, the Brewers aren't going to need as many pinch hitters during the series in Minnesota, so they might carry Swindle as a LOOGY. Then, swap Catalanatto for Swindle.
  14. Yeah, I was eating downtown at Cubanita's, and he was there with Ty Wigginton and Doug Brocail. He was sort of surprised when I recognized him.
  15. The difference now is that they Padres don't need to spend a 40-man roster spot on him until the end of the year.
  16. I'm not confirming the trade is true, but I'm hearing it from sources other than 619sports... Feels like a done-deal though, so I reflected the thread title accordingly.
  17. I would counter that, looking at Duffy's stats, by saying that Duffy is neither-handed.
  18. That sounds about right. SD gets the prodigal son, and the Brewers get a left-handed Duffy. Eh, if nothing else, TGJ deserves a shot in SD.
  19. I think it's going to be Seth McClung and Jorge Julio for Mark Bellhorn, Keith Ginter, and Lyle Mouton.
  20. From experience, I can say that a lot of it is. I know one of our threads was printed out and posted in the Brewers' clubhouse during S/T one time.
  21. Why empty the farm system for Peavy? He's going to the AL and swinging the pendulum from a pitcher's park to a hitter's park. He's an upgrade, but I think fans are going to be disappointed.
  22. Well, while the Brewers had their opportunities tonight, they were bound to lose at some point. Especially to a pitcher who's been throwing so well. Nice to see McGehee doesn't appear to be a total black hole at 2B. If nothing else, he might be a nice, cheap bench player for years to come.
