    [ I will seriously say this....no disrespect. I have read and belong to a lot of Brewers sites. To not be able to express a vibrant opinion is in my view abhorrent. Especially when WSSP sponsers. ] WSSP doesn't sponsor Brewerfan.net, we're partners, meaning we pimp their stuff, they pimp our stuff. We keep a different level of decorum here at Brewerfan.net, then at other message boards... calling people "liars" and making generalizations about posters (as well as YELLING) is a fast track to never being taken seriously.

    Since there's a possibility of a rainout on Thursday (let's hope not!), the picnic will be postponed, as it would be bad news to buy all the perishables only to have the picnic not occur. Assuming the weather for the 2nd game looks decent, we'll re-schedule for then.

    [ I forgot the name of the place since I haven't been there in a while, but there's an outdoor batting cage right off I-94 at the Bluemound Rd. Exit. It's a mini golf course that has batting cages as well. ] It's called "Swing Time", and it's on Hwy 164 and Main Street in Waukesha. That's the place where I usually put on my raking demonstrations.

    [ May I ask why a poster is allowed/can have multiple screen names? I have suspected there are some fairly regular posters that are posting under differing screen names. Is this the case? ] There's nothing programatically that prevents a user from creating multiple accounts.... however, when i'm able to determine that one person has two accounts, it's pretty much bans-ville.

    [ Usually I would have shrugged it off, but he basically ruined an entire message board single-handedly. ] No, I understand, but he did come out and apologize at the ESPN board, so I figured i'd give him another shot. As far as trolls go, it's really no big deal here. I can ban IP's, and it doesn't take long to weed trolls out. [ Has he attempted to apologize or explain himself at all? ] No, and he shouldn't bother wasting his time or mine.

    [ I was emailed by both Mark and Brian the Automator saying that I was out of line, and that Mark had changed his ways, was sorry and just wanted to be a cool Brewer fan again. ] You were out of line. We're the moderators, so let us moderate. I'm under the opinion that everyone deserves a second chance. He won't get a third.

It was a guy who was a serious troll at another message board, and I decided to give him a shot to stick here, letting bygones be bygones. I guess the tempation to troll is just too much for people, sometimes.

    I'm really excited for the game as well. I was hesitant to sign up for the league going into it because I was out of shape and really was never that good at softball. I'm still out of shape and not good at softball, but I've had a great time at practices, and enjoyed hanging out with a nice group of guys. Hopefully we get some more guys signing up next year, and we can maybe even have two teams.

    I'm locking this thread for several reasons: 1) In-Game Thread comments belong in the in-game thread. Do not start a new thread simply to comment on a game. 2) Don't create subjects with all caps. 3) Don't write posts that say simply "hmmmmmmmmmmmm" ----- Come on, let's keep this place readable.

I saw some self-apologies for bad behavior in the IGT tonight, and that was encouraging.

    [ I apologize for calling your arguments stupid, accusing you of being a troll, implying that Brian should consider banning posters like yourself. Again I am sorry. ] Yeah, I should have probably handled it a little better myself. I just want to see everyone take an even-handed approach to posting. I think people take comments more seriously if they think you're willing to "eat your own dog food".

    [ I *would* actually like to see this tried. ] The problem with ignoring someone is that it really only works if everyone ignores them... and even that takes time.

    [ I'm defending the idea that everyone here has a right to say what they want and should not fear harsh judgement. ] Sounds anti-American of me, but they DON'T have a right to say what they want when a privately owned site requests it of them. Now, i'm not saying that certain types of opinions should censored, but when you have a guy who only comes in during losses and spouts off about how horrible the team is, that's disingenous. I'm certainly not insisting that you must have a 1:1 ratio of positive:negative opinions, but when you have a guy coming in only when things are bad, saying "See? See?", that's gutless.

    [ He expects a win every day. ] I think this is the key phrase. No team goes 162-0. As a result, I hope expectations of fans would reflect that. Knee-jerk reactionism leads to really bad conversation.

    I'm just against posters with agendas. If people don't take an even-handed approach to posting, their credibility is zero, and it results in beating topics to death.
