  1. Sometimes, I wish you wouldn't hold back so much. http://static.yuku.com//domainskins/bypass/img/smileys/wink.gif
  2. Please follow the instructions in the thread, especially the bolded part.... otherwise I'll most posts to the yay/nay thread.
  3. I'll go with Capuano or Estrada. I guess I can't get that mad at Estrada, because we just didn't know what other teams knew... but Cappy just fell apart.
  4. There was a misunderstanding there, and the thing that sucks is there's no way to "unboot" someone. The min time limit on a booting is an hour, unfortunately. I think Casey may have PM'd you with the details.
  5. The main purpose of a bench coach is for defensive positioning.
  6. I asked you to decrease your font size, and you told me to pay for your Lasik, so I booted you. Maybe it's OK to taunt the mods on other sites, but I don't have time for it.
  7. bklyn, you're really beating a dead horse in this thread. If you count your number of posts in this thread, you'll see what I mean.
  8. I concur. It's fun for like a day, but there's just not enough substance there.
  9. I don't think you can say that you could "never" trade a person. If you were be able to get Jake Peavey, Chris Young, and Heath Bell for Ryan Braun (obviously, I'm exaggerating), you'd have a hard time turning that deal down.
  10. ">" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" height="350" width="425" allowScriptAccess="never">
  11. And definitely, definitely do the Sunday brunch in the Wisconsin Room.
  12. I would recommend the American Club, for sure. We go there probably 2-3 times a year.
  13. I think there are some people who just pound the anti-Yost drum over, and over, and over, and over, thinking that repeating their opinions more often will somehow magically transform them into fact, but I would stop short of insulting people by saying they don't "get it". We should all use facts to back up our opinions, and not just insult people by implying they're naive, ignorant, or stupid.
  14. pee with the door open.
  15. Bumping this thread to correspond with another Kremblas thread.
  16. Jenkins would be somewhat useless at 1B... You neutralize his arm and defense, one of the things that might make him more valuable than a comparable offensive left fielder.
  17. To be clear, though, this really isn't a rumor... Just a sportswriters idea on a solution to their outfield problem.
  18. Yo's going to be good. Villanueva will probably be good. Suppan will probably be servicable. Parra could conceivably be good, but injuries are a serious concern. Bush, Vargas, and Capuano have been bounced in and out of the rotation this year. To me, that doesn't scream "depth", at least not where I wouldn't be looking for an upgrade.
  19. Are you coming back from Colorado, BF?
  20. Henry T Pullover, the inventor of the Pullover sweater.
  21. In fairness, this is the Ned Yost yay/nay thread. The theme here is not necessarily "who's to blame for the game", but do Ned's decisions positively or negatively affect the team. And yeah, Thorman's shot was ginormous.
  22. Larry had the same numbers virtually as a right-hander from '04 to '06 as he did as a left-hander. Teixeira actually hits slightly better right-handed. And of course what is Shouse's long history against righties? Good or outrageously bad? Because that obviously should be a/the major factor. Normally I would agree with you, but we have a whole season's worth of recent data to go by now. Shouse has been a different pitcher this year, and his double-play-but-not ball should have been proof of that.
  23. In other words, they are equally capable of batting right-handed, and thus making Shouse ineffective with his career .400 BAA and 1.000+ OPSA? I mean that's a technicality Brian. It's not as if they are going to do Shouse and the Brewers a favor and bat left handed. I'm quite positive Linebrink's career splits against lefties or righties aren't near as pitiful. Make them hit lefty against a better pitcher in that situation. Chipper's splits vs. lefties are pretty distinct. Teixera pretty much mashes either way. They had a lefty up after Teixera. Righties only have a .644 OPS vs. Shouse this year. I fully blame Ned for bunting Counsell on 2 strikes, but I think he managed the 10th the best he could have. I don't think I would have done anything different.
