  1. REally? And if he makes out you have 1st and 2nd, 1 out, or 2nd and 3rd, 1 out. Which is better?
  2. Completely agree with that, and I have already called for an end to the Bill Hall experiment. He seems to be falling into th eutility role now, which is where he belongs. The fact is, that play should never have happened because that game should have been over after 9 innings. Ohka and his friends in the bullpen get 99% of the blame for this one.
  3. Is that what I said? No it isn't. I said the pressure when you are playing for something is higher than it is when your season is over and you have nothing to lose. If you're 15 games under .500 in August, those plays simply are not as improtant and the player is far more relaxed trying to make them (sad but true of almost any team in that situation). The pressure of winning is causing them to play just a little bit tighter and you have seen it all over the diamond from the aforementioned plays to the bullpens "performance" tonight.
  4. You know, as you get closer to .500, WC contention, becoming a winning team...whatever, the pressure does increase and I think that has been showing up recently. If they are 15 games below .500 does anyone thinkl Brady would not have caught that ball the other night. Bill Hall tonight (that one's tougher to answer)? It looks to me as if they are feeling a little extra pressure in pressure situations as they get closer to success, and they are choking just a bit at key moments.
  5. Ummm...It was the 11th inning in a game when the starter stunk up the joint and was out of the game early. All and still they got to the 9th with a lead and Turnbow blew it. There was one guy left in the bullpen - Rick Helling. Wise had been used. DLR, used, Eveland, used. Lehr, used, and all of them had to be used just to get to the 9th with that lead. Who would you have had in there in that critical situation, Wes Helms? To try to blame this one on the manager is just plain stupid. That was an unbelievably poor pitching performace tonight, with contributions from just about everyone, and an assist from Bill Hall.
  6. That's where my money is! They did a nice job backing that play up and keeping JJ at first. Now a single doesn't tie the game.
  7. GOOD NEWS! Austim Powers is on TBS!
  8. . Or not. He has since realized he didn't know what he was talking about...kind of like you.
  9. Man, y'all need to lighten up. The Brewers are losing, can't hit, Victor Santos sucks. What else is new? Why so cranky?
  10. What are you talking about, or do I just not get the joke?
  11. That's teh question, isn't it? Will this team like all of the rest, or are they ready to do something different and turn the corner? The rest of this game could provide an indication.
  12. Do you have any idea how stupid you sound?
  13. Gimmie a break! I have no statistics to back this up, but I will bet you walking the guy ahead of the pitcher works out better than 90% of the time. It was the correct call, its the pitch that was wrong.
  14. All the folks who say Ned sits there with the same expression on his face all the time, are just kidding themselves. I hope he didn't crush some of his teeth or bite half his tongue off right there.
  15. Would be really nice to have Cirillo about now. I would feel just fine thank you with a Branyan/Cirillo platoon at 3B.
  16. It'll be 4-0 by the time this inning is over.
  17. He didn't call him carrot, he called him Jerry...as in Seinfeld, which Bob had referenced.
  18. People can complain about the broadcast team all they want, but Darron, Bill, and Bob are on top of their game tonight. That bit with the guy who didn't get the bat is priceless. It didn't detract from the game at all, it was entertaining..Barnerd is teh weak link, but we have a pretty good broadcast team.
  19. Wild Card here we come. Even after the first two games I said that 3 wins was the most we could reasonably expect on this trip. The Brewers are certainly validating that opinion.
  20. Not sure 3 of 7 isn't still going to have to be good enough. A win today would be huge, but if they don't get it, 1 of 3 in Atlanta is probably all you can ask for.
