  1. Greg is salty that he got played in game 1 (i.e., "they don't swing" only to see them jump on early strikes from Boyd and put up 9 runs in two innings.) I'm completely comfortable for Greg to decide it's time to show everyone how smart he is.
  2. Yeah, well, I'm not a physical trainer or therapist so your mileage may vary. I'm surprised he's playing the field.
  3. pretty sure that's true; also not sure they'll need him to. the footage of his jogs down to 1B were not, in my opinion, encouraging. Looked to be favoring it coming out of the box in my opinion.
  4. I've got a sibling who is a season ticket holder. They were offered the chance to buy playoff tickets and took it. I get it's expensive. It's also voluntary. No one HAS to buy the seats and then flip some to finance it. That's a choice. There are plenty of 20 game package holders available to buy those seats. I'm glad the was an 85/15 split. I expect tomorrow will be a little worse as there's more time to flip the seats than there was Saturday after the Cubs advanced.
  5. There are no trains right now. We have who we have. And he's more productive with the bat than the alternatives imo. He had a PH RBI tonight.
  6. Ortiz man. IF he's up with the bases loaded in the playoffs..... just PH for him. Play Hoskins at SS for all I care, just don't let him take that AB. I don't care how due he is. lol
  7. it worked but starting Perkins and PH hitting for him is the exact wrong way to use Perkins, if you have the choice.
  8. I agree with the logic of this, but you're assuming Quintana, Hall and Megill are ready to go. I honestly don't excpect all three will be. I hope you're right! And I agree that if they are then maybe neither Gasser or Miz make the roster. I'll give you that.
  9. That's a good sign from Chourio. Could see it coming the last couple of days. He's just got to relax a little bit, but he's had some good at bats. This game, this series is ugly but there are a few good signs since the 3rd.
  10. I agree. I don't think they have a choice but to include one of them. The end of the pen is pretty sketchy at this point. I suspect it'll be Miz but it's probably by default at this point.
  11. Yeah, You could really see how hard they were gripping tonight. (Not sarcastic.) I honestly think there's a lot of trying a little too hard right now.
  12. Never imagined I would be this frustrated with a team as they clinched the best record in MLB and home field through the postseason. Baseball, baby.
  13. Well I guess Gasser probably isn't going to make the playoff roster if they have a choice. He could have used some help and he may not have cracked. Man.... this team looks like it's in big trouble. At least the bats got off the mat a little and they're showing some fight now, even if it's too late tonight. They look awake finally. Perkins tonight is showing the conundrum he presents: his defense is so good you almost have to play him, but his bat adds very little to a lineup that needs everything it can get. If Yelich could play LF every day it would open up the DH spot for Bauers/Vaughn, but he can't. The lineup decisions with this group are deceptively tricky.
  14. Upside is there's really no one in the NL that's really hot right now. Lot of 4-6, 5-5, 6-4 in the last 10 up and down the league.
  15. That's probably true, particularly for the staff and the position players defensively. I do think that it's a little less likely that the bats will come alive during several days of down time.
  16. I might be going out on a limb here but it might be hard to win games if Yelich is the only guy hitting come the playoffs.
  17. I was ok with Counsell for the most part. There were a few decisions over the years I had significant problems with. Winker being on the 2023 playoff roster and then being used the way he was used in those playoff games was, in my opinion, the dumbest decision by a Brewers manager since Roenicke started Kotsay in CF. But for the most part I thought having him as a manager was an advantage for the Brewers during his time here, and that's better than the more typical alternatives of being neutral or worse, which is what most managers offer.
  18. Said it the other day, but I really think Murph is going to fight for him to be on the playoff roster. Not saying I agree with it, but I think he's going to do it.
