  1. I'm not worried about him either (nor did I pay much attention to what he or anyone else did in the WBC outside of the injuries and lost time that resulted for Chourio, etc.). But his power is playing at High A and I question whether he'd have more opportunity for development this year playing at AA against more advanced pitching. If they want him to get his k rate down before he moves up I certainly see that as an issue but I suspect that will be an issue for him throughout his career. The more ABs against more advanced pitchers the better imo.
  2. Nope. I was just doing math in my head based on a 15 second glance at his stats and accidentally used AB instead of PA (and then rounded liberally anyway). Thanks!
  3. True, and Adamczewski's strikeout rate of about 25% is a lot prettier than Fischer's 37%, which is probably why Fischer started the year at High A and hasn't moved up yet.
  4. Turang's home runs are always aesthetically pleasing. Sounds weird I know but even when they just get out they're majestic moon balls. I've got no objection to a Brewers hitting them out just over the wall down the lines, but his big booming home runs are the Platonic ideal of home runs.
  5. Honestly think he was upset because the hitter got into the box so early (which Cabellero is very fastidious about not doing until the literal last second), which allowed Uribe to stand there on the rubber for 10 seconds, freezing Cabellero. BTW, hat tip to the TV broadcast. Switching to the camera behind 1B so we could see both Cabellero and Uribe was pretty entertaining and an excellent way to cover the game situation.
  6. Andrew Fischer hit his 8th home run of the year at High A today. Currently .262/.352/.950.
  7. I did not have Blake Perkins getting a big 2 out hit and missing the cutoff man in the same game on my bingo card.
  8. Starting the power regression right now would be ok with me.
  9. Yankees played pretty good defense on a handful of plays too, not that they were forced to all that often.
  10. Just difficult to believe it'll be Hamilton and Ortiz splitting time at SS in 3 weeks.
  11. The choices are awful but it's hard to see where the upside is with Hamilton over Ortiz, as bad as Ortiz is.
  12. Missed opportunity in the 5th. Better pitch selection late in that at bat from Frelick and luck at 2B and they have the bases loaded.
  13. These umps. That pitch clock violation was called by the hitter earlier. Ump shrugged and called it when he asked for it. I don't think it's getting overturned but that's a ridiculous decision to not allow the challenge. I thought we were done with this ump show stuff.
  14. Fouled off ball four and then gets himself out. Can't do that in a game like this.
  15. That at bat was beautiful from Chourio. Soft contact but who cares. Just a joy to watch him.
  16. Got some help with swings up and out of the zone but that's the book on the Yankees, so.... he was missing everywhere for about 12 pitches but got it done
