  1. Here's hoping tonight is the night that Chourio breaks out of his mini-slump. Dude is pressing harder than a dry cleaner.
  2. And some of that would be related to baseball.
  3. I still subscribe to the once popular outlook that the actual impact of managers is limited. I also agree with "all managers do really dumb things". What he does appear to be quite good at is running a clubhouse that is supportive, isn't toxic and stay out of the way of the guys who develop and scheme to get the most out of the pitching staff. That combined with the resourceful front office results in some players, who otherwise have been overlooked, to find themselves in their best position to have success. That makes Murphy a pretty good manager, in game errors and all.
  4. Yep. Hopefully not but it certainly feels that way. Hopefully next time they have do a rehab assignment before the activate him. Doesn't have to be long. Just a couple of games so they know it's far enough along that he can play more than one game without injuring it again.
  5. Baseball! Not being critical. These were all completely rational comments and thoughts at the time. So of course Sanchez, while he didn't light it up exactly, scored twice, drew a walk and doubled.
  6. 4 out of 5 from the Yankees and Padres is pretty damn good. Can still make it 5 of 6.
  7. Sure as hell hope it was him. If it wasn't there's a larger problem.
  8. Gonna go ahead and guess that Jackson got a friendly ass chewing after that out at 2nd.
  9. 7 strong from Mis. Wow. Wouldn't have guessed that after he was stuck throwing extra pitches in the 1st after the blown review call.
  10. That's probably fair but you need opportunity to build a track record. Considering the reset of the rotation they chose (and with Priester and Woody going down not all of it was a choice) things are going pretty well.
  11. Confession time: I was briefly tempted by the Milwaukee Brewers Lord of the Rings Night gear that popped in my feed online until I took a breath and realized there is no Lod of the Rings Night, all of it is unlicensed and If I gave them money for a hoodie it would be like setting cash on fire. 😆
  12. Honestly thought maybe they should use him as a DH after his reaction to those foul tips.
  13. I had him on ignore for a while and turned it off so I was only ignoring the loser Cubs fan who comes here sometimes. But I don't come here to read posts where people are trying to litigate conversations they had a week ago. It's boring.
  14. Like five different people have questioned him in the 3 minutes.
  15. If Mitchell is going to strike out at the rate he strikes out he damn well needs to catch balls that hit him in the glove.
  16. Don't believe it will last but it's fun to see him have some success.
