  1. Good sign from a manager like Murphy, who has a tendency to stick to "roles" with his player usage, that he's shown some willingness to look for the highest leverage opportunity with his best/better relievers lately.
  2. I can't believe how gratifying it is to see someone professionally execute an AB w/RISP and less than 2 out.
  3. Shame to see Chourio not rewarded for a very good AB after some pitch selection struggles last night.
  4. I think that's exactly what's going to happen. Meaning Hoskins will be rostered, not released.
  5. I just don't agree, but that's fine. I'm not an expert, but he didn't shorten his stroke at any point in that second AB. His whole approach should have been to elevate the ball and get it to the OF, and you don't need huge swings to do that, but that's exactly what he did on the pop out. On the k with RISP, the pitch was very good. The ump had been giving the low zone strike call at times. It just makes no sense to watch it and hope for a walk with 2 strikes, men on 2nd and 3rd and 1 out.
  6. We have reached the point of the season where I worry that pitchers who perform well against bad teams will be overestimated and given a spot on the playoff roster.
  7. I can't quite tell if Frelick was actually on one knee when he hit that ball or if it was an inch or two off the ground and then on the ground immediately after making contact.
  8. Ok, so.... am I still not supposed to be worried about Woodruff? That's an early hook for a delayed start.
  9. completely correct. In 2019 I think a lot of people thought they'd start winning for a while. Not just Trout.
  10. True. Also I'm pretty sure he signed it in 2019 when they still had 4 years of control with Ohtani. Hard to argue when it's that kind of $ and you've got help like Ohtani.
