  1. Was at the TRats game tonight. Just got home. Cold but fun. Fischer hit a walk off 2 run homer in the 10th after going 0 for 4 and 4 strike outs through 9 innings. Pretty rough night for him at the plate ended well. Pena bobble head night, but he didn't play and hasn't since he collapsed in the dugout last week. Apprently seeing a neurologist on Monday? Dinges went 1 for 4 with a single. Hall went for 2 for 4 with a home run. Adamczewski went 0 for 3, BB, and an RBI on a sac fly in the 10th when the Trats were down 2 runs.
  2. Same is true of Nick Neugebauer, although there's a non-zero chance that they only thought that because they really wanted a guy with a video-game name like Nick Neugebauer to rampage through MLB for 10 years. And who could blame them.
  3. If I believed in reincarnation and that God had a sense of humor, I would also believe that Sal Frelick has the soul of Rob Deer trapped in his body.
  4. I'd say Johnny Wholestaff is having a hell of a day but I'm not sure that's fair when Drohan went 4 innings.
  5. If I were Sanchez I would be telling Contreras about the triple I hit the other night every time he came back to the dugout. "The throw to third wasn't even close. I didn't even have to slide. Triples are easy."
  6. Contreras is driving the snakes out of Milwaukee today. It's like he's St. Patrick Contreras.
  7. Also I have some strongly held opinions on Woody and his contract and obviously others do too... but this thread and that discussion was fairly productive and also fun. That's why I love this place.
  8. I was going to say Yuni, but honestly that is somehow unfair to both players.
  9. Setting aside all the discussion about Woody's health and his contract, it's ******* awesome to see Contreras punishing a pitcher in DAY GAME AFTER A NIGHT GAME! I get workload is a thing particularly for guys who are your primary catcher, but it's time for the Brewers to stop acting like William having a productive day game after a night game is like a bigfoot sighting.
  10. Meh. They almost certainly wouldn't have repurposed that money for anyone else, and I'm not sure how you can rationally predict they've lost a chance at a playoff spot on April 30th. They might miss the playoffs. They might not. I'm not sure one is any more likely than they other if Woody is done.
  11. I agree. The contract was a mistake (and I still think they thought he'd say no to the QO), but honestly who cares at this point? like you said it's a single year contract. It doesn't really limit them moving forward, or at least not any more than they were already limited, and I will lose zero sleep over knowing that Woody is getting paid one last time before he's done given how good he was and what he did for the organization when he was under exclusive control and paid well below market. If you're going to make a mistake and overpay a guy who's at the end of the line health wise you could do a lot worse than Woody.
  12. Fastball in the first inning was 87 or less down from 92 or so in prior starts.
  13. they probably would have had to wrestle him off the mound. He's a proud guy obviously but at some point you have to intervene whether he wants you to or not. Between innings if possible.
  14. Fitzpatrick looks like Cillian Murphy's Irish American cousin.
  15. Just your standard "I'm going to screw up a play twice so you can get the first because I'd rather tag you in the face at 2B than take the easy route by throwing you out by 20 feet on a clean play."
  16. He's gotta hit at some point, lol. There are some signs of progress there.
  17. It's going to be fun when the Brewers power regression begins. I know they don't have a ton of power but they've been hitting into some tough luck long loud flyouts for 2 weeks now.
