    In recent years, 200 players have been considered for Vets Committee election to the HOF, this will now be narrowed to 20 players. Vets Committee will still vote once every two years. Going forward, only living HOF players will vote on eligible players, living writers, execs, etc will vote on past execs, managers, umpires, etc. This change is in reaction to zero players being elected in the last three VC ballots. Personally, I have no problem with no one being elected, if no one was deemed worthy. I expect players like Ron Santo to get a boost from this change, I'll be surprised if no one gets in next time around, as this move was clearly designed to get more guys in.

    No, Cordero isn't done, BUT, this is why you should almost never give huge money to a closer. These guys all go through peaks and valleys, the ones like Fingers, Rivera and Hoffman are very rare. Next year, someone else will be closing here, and will likely finish with a similar number of blown saves as Cordero has, wherever he is. The difference will be several million dollars.

    It's not just on offense for me Brett. Prince was doubled up on a play he should have beaten, he clearly pulled up rather than running through the bag. On Miles' triple, I thought Hart took too long getting over there, and Graffy's relay throw was just laughable. People talk about how the players might panic if they feed off the crowd, I see just the opposite. I think a lot of the guys are too relaxed right now.

    I'm having fun with it, today's loss is the first one that really has be ticked off. This team does not stink, and will pull out of this. Check the talent level of this roster, this is a playoff caliber team, that is having a garbage July. I'm seeing too many guys jogging when they hit ground balls, etc, right now. Something needs to snap them awake, which I'm confident will happen.

    Cordero deserves the heat right now for sure, but he isn't alone today. How about Braun dropping a very easy chance, which lead to two runs, Villanueva with a WP, putting a runner into scoring position, leading to a run, and the whole lineup for, again thinking a big, early lead means a W.
