  1. The Brewers aren't in a position to get him, but someone might... http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/mets/source_mets_open_to_wright_deal_UJ6FhfhAW6PtCnXHrS3CXJ/0
  2. I don't think the Brewers are anywhere near "out of it" on Prince. I just don't see the Yankees or Red Sox going big to get him, or the Phillies, or the Tigers. The Dodgers and the Mets have too many internal issues right now to really go big, in my opinion. Texas could be a possibility, but the first thing they have to do is sort out CJ Wilson, or replace him. If St Louis loses Albert, they're a possibility, but I don't see any reason why they could offer Prince more money than the Brewers could. I just wonder if Prince will find a 200 million dollar offer. He sure might, but I don't think it's a given by any means. Adrian Gonzalez signed a 7-year contract, for $154 million, or 22 million per year. I think it's very possible Prince's numbers are going to come in right about there, and if they do, it's not inconceivable for the Brewers to keep him here. The one outlier looks like the Cubs...the huge market team with money to spend, and now a new ownership group, and a new management team. I expect the Cubs to pursue both Fielder and Pujols...whether they get either one is anyone's guess, but if it's about money in the end...they'll sign someone this winter.
  3. Congratulations Brewers, it was a wonderful season! It stinks that it ended with a loss, but it was 96 wins, a division title, the All-Star Game MVP, most likely the NL MVP, and a playoff series win....it was a great time! I was in the building when the guys won the division, and again for Game One against Arizona. I now have amazing memories of the division win, with my son, and of the playoff win, with my wife. I don't feel the least bit bad about the 2011 Brewers! I've been a fan of this team since 1974, and this ranks as one of the two best seasons I've been given in 38 years...THANK YOU.
  4. Team defense.

  6. OK, so the series had its first tight game and the other guys won it. I'm not giving up on anything! Yes, I believe the Brewers can win this game tonight. Yes, I believe the Brewers can win the game tomorrow night too. Get the pitchers loose and let's see what happens...it's 2-1, not 200-1.
  7. I honestly don't know anyone who follows the NBA at this point.
  8. The Cardinals scored more runs this season - the Brewers allowed fewer runs this season - each team beat the other nine times. Statistically, I see the Brewers with a very slight edge, like almost small enough to not even matter, which is exactly how I saw the matchup with AZ. I think we're going to get more of what we had in the AZ series, this one will be close, and it won't end quickly. I'll take the home team by a nose, Brewers win in seven.
  9. The Brewers had the best team in '82, but Fingers got hurt, and they didn't have the home field for the World Series...and they lost...anything can happen. If I were an odds-maker, I'd have to favor the Brewers right now, considering how well they've played at home this season, but these teams have all earned their way into this position...and I'm quite sure all four believe they're going to win it all right about now. There are going to be plenty of twists and turns, with white knuckles everywhere, but if the Brewers play well, it's there for them to win. The good news is....they know it. From the minute they acquired Greinke, the team has talked about being "all-in", and trying to win it while Prince is here. Well, this is about the best scenario they could have hoped for at this point. Hang on tight.
  10. When you buy your ticket, you have to be prepared to ride the ride! This is awesome! I won't waste time worrying about hating the Cardinals, I'm too busy rooting for the Brewers! The door is open to keep the home field and keep winning, which is the best any of us could hope for. If the Brewers don't beat 'em, then the Cardinals will have earned it...so be it. GO BREWERS!
  11. The Cardinals took out the Phillies, giving the Brewers the home field all the way through if they can keep winning. THANK YOU, ST LOUIS!
  12. Bring on whoever else wins tonight, there is simply nothing like postseason baseball with your team in it! The highs and lows are incredible.
  13. Congratulations to the Diamondbacks for a great season, and a great playoff series. They never quit, and they came back a million times all year long, right up to the 9th inning today. Great job, Arizona, I'm quite sure you'll be back in the postseason before too long.
  14. I wish I was there today!

  18. Man, oh man, oh man...my wife's niece died of cancer today at age 25, and I just found out and old classmate of mine died last night of cardiac arrest at age 44. WAY too many young people have left my life in recent years. TIME. OUT.
  19. Win it for Pete Weeks (my wife's nephew), a diehard Brewers fan who's wife died of cancer today in Oconomowoc.
