  1. Following Sunday's games, here's what's on tap: Brewers - 1 vs Washington, 3 at SD, 3 at LA Cubs - Off-day, 3 at Atl, 3 at FL Cardinals - 4 at FL, 3 at Cin Phillies - 4 at LA, 3 at SD Mets - 1 vs Pitt, 3 at Wash, 3 at Pitt Marlins - 4 vs St L, 3 vs Chi Diamondbacks - Off-day, 3 at Col, 3 at Hou Dodgers - 4 vs Phil, 3 vs Mil Rockies - Will be listed if they get within 5 games of the division lead. The Marlins and Dodgers both have very tough weeks, but at least they're all home games. The Brewers and Phillies head to the same two cities, while the Mets get to know the Pirates and Nationals. St Louis has seven road games with no breaks, while the Cubs visit the southeast for the entire week. If AZ can win on the road, they've got it much easier than the Dodgers do for the week, but if AZ isn't up for it, the Rockies have a chance to close the gap.
  2. Dear Brewers: No pressure, just win, or it will ruin my entire Saturday....and it will be your faults. Sincerely, -Todd
  3. Good job guys, keep ringing up 2 of 3! Next 7 vs Nats and Pads...yummy!
  4. Yes, Odorizzi has the potential to be a #1 or a #2 starter. Keep in mind, he just finished high school, so there's no reason to rush things, but it would not surprise me if he was in A ball to start the season.

  6. 17-10 You can't realistically hope for a better schedule than this, it's a great opportunity for the Brewers to set themselves up for September.

  10. OK, here's the deal....if you have to have a deeply personal conversation....do not have it on your cell phone, in a public waiting area. Thank you.
  11. A friend of mine was at the game last night, and had nothing but trouble with the drunken Cubs fans in his section. He has sworn off ever attending a Brewers-Cubs game again.
  12. The worst example of this sort of thing that I've encountered happened at a mid-90s Packers-Vikings game in MN. If you recall, GB always lost up there during that time, and often on bizarre, last-minute plays. My boss at the time was on his way out after an overtime, Monday night Packers' loss, packed in the mass of bodies in the narrow Metrodome corridor, when he saw an intoxicated Packers fan literally attempt to tear a Vikings sweatshirt off the back of the stereotypical midwestern grandmother. From his description, this was a tiny woman, likely about 70 years old, and this guy yanked on the back of her shirt, tearing a big hole in at, and dragging her to the concrete floor in the process. I also recall Badger football fans vandalizing Hayden Fry's customized van about 20 years ago. I'll never understand what motivates people to make an ass of themselves like that. What does it gain someone to hurt someone else, or damage property?
  13. Also, how has Weeks been doing recently Last month.... 82 ABs, 20 R, 2 HR, 10 RBI, 3 SB, .244 AVE
  14. I coached youth baseball for five years. I have a lot of great memories, but some of the parents, and opposing coaches, pretty much cured any desire I might have had to find out if I could be a major league manager.
  15. The Mets are droppin' the long ball on St Louis.
  16. Ray Durham - scored three runs, missed a foul pop to extend an inning and mistimed a jump on a ball hit right over his head. That's about the size of it. The Brewers would not have won that game without Durham's big contribution at the top of the order - I'll take it.
  17. Here's where Blanton gets on a roll, and shoots all the way up to 6-12.
  18. On another medical front, right-hander Yovani Gallardo has begun throwing on flat ground. Gallardo tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee May 1 in Chicago and was presumed lost for the season. Ash indicated there is no set date for Gallardo to begin throwing off a mound but said he remains on schedule in his program of physical therapy. There remains a chance that Gallardo will be able to pitch again in September, though he might be relegated to relief work to guard against overuse. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=776765
  19. BTW, Gallardo has begun throwing on flat ground.
  20. Mosquitos are bugging me.
  21. Come See What's Brewin' Come See What the Good Times Are Come See What the Brewers Are Doin' Come on and Cheer a Superstar Stompin' Your Feet Clappin' Your Hands You're Part of the Team Sittin' in the Stands
  22. Cardinals, Lohse (12-2) vs Mets, Santana (8-7) Marlins, VandenHurk (1-1) vs Cubs, Marquis (6-6) Braves, Campillo (5-4) vs Phillies, Blanton (5-12)
  23. The Cubs are still tied for first place, I think they're probably still "in it." Hold on tight, there are six teams fighting for three playoff spots, and very possibly a three-team race for the NL West - a good time will be had by all.
  24. Happy Birthday!
  25. The Cubbies still have a series in Florida on their schedule....I like that quite a bit right now.
