If Luuuuuuuuc hits a walkoff and there's no IGT, does it make a sound? -
In Ax's last win he gave up a run to put the Brewers down 4-1 but then they got 5 for the lead and won. That's even more bogus than tonight's hold, which it least is balanced by the L. The Brewers were 5-4 on the road trip and Ax lost 2 of the 4 getting 1 out in each. He hasn't pitched well in a meaningful situation in weeks. There's no reason he should be in when it counts. Wooten and Kintzler were available tonight.

Plus he's thrown out on the pitch that makes it 3-0 on the way to a walk.

The radio guy isn't very good either. For some reason TMJ isn't streaming right now so I'm stuck with him. At least it isn't Ueck's inning.

This looks like the applicable rule: 3.16 When there is spectator interference with any thrown or batted ball, the ball shall be dead at the moment of interference and the umpire shall impose such penalties as in his opinion will nullify the act of interference. APPROVED RULING: If spectator interference clearly prevents a fielder from catching a fly ball, the umpire shall declare the batter out. Rule 3.16 Comment: There is a difference between a ball which has been thrown or batted into the stands, touching a spectator thereby being out of play even though it rebounds onto the field and a spectator going onto the field or reaching over, under or through a barrier and touching a ball in play or touching or otherwise interfering with a player. In the latter case it is clearly intentional and shall be dealt with as intentional interference as in Rule 3.15. Batter and runners shall be placed where in the umpire’s judgment they would have been had the interference not occurred. So it's not like a ground rule double where the runner has to go back to 3d. The umpire has to make a judgment about what would have happened had there been no interference. So the umpires would have had to make a judgment that Gomez would not have scored if the ball hadn't been touched. I'm listenening not watching but it seems like that's a pretty tough call to make so I can see Roenicke having a legitimate beef. If it's not intentional interference then I think it would be treated as if the fielder had thrown it into the stands and Gomez scores anyway. Either way it's good it didn't matter.

They are reporting it is hamstring tightness for Yo, not a pull. I've never been an Ax hater before but wow, can't even get Villaneuva out. And I guess 4 hits in row including the P isn't enough of a clue for RR. It's not like you're going to get any more outs out of him.

Good job by Bianchi and Weeks picking up Francisco and Yuni. Yuni hacks at 3-0 and looks at strikes 2 and 3 with a guy on 3d and 1 out. There's a new one.

Wow just when you thought nobody could have a worse day then Francisco did yesterday. The move to leadoff really paying off.

Tough day continues for Francisco, although that was a pretty marginal call. At least the gift run came in first.

Braun Suspended for Remainder of 2013 Season

Glad to see Deadspin all over the collector issue. To the extent the collector has a reputation out of this is that he didn't do his job and because of his screw-up the test was properly thrown out. Since that is clearly true, I don't see why that reputation should change now. Those like Schilling who are talking about his reputation are concern trolling; all they care about is trashing Braun. And really, someone's going to take moral advice from Curt Schilling? Maybe I am too jaded by the business I have chosen, but I think this all shows that from the beginning the best strategy for Braun was the less said the better. I would continue to give him this advice. -
I turned the radio broadcast on about 5 minutes before the game started and haven't heard anything about Braun so they must have covered it earlier.
