That's great, after Gindl gets the silent treatment at home plate he starts miming high fives with all the guys that aren't there. -
2d time they've had 3 straight SOs but the last one was over 2 series. Chris Bosio, Tom Filer and Teddy Higuera. Ueck: "oh yeah, Tom FILER!!" Which one of these is not like the other two?
-
Ueck's happy now!
-
Ueck sounds pretty disgusted. The one time a sac is probably in order RR has Francisco wave at 3 pitches after he's up 2-0.
-
On his own in the field too - Es put the leadoff guys on in both the 7th and 8th and he works around them. 30 straight scoreless going back to the last AZ game. Let's get this guy some runs!
-
Now 24 straight scoreless innings. And I've probably just jinxed it.
-
Gomez robbing Votto was the #4 play of the first half of the year on the postgame show.
-
Finally. This could easily have been and probably should have been a sweep. DBacks had 24 hits in 4 games.
-
Roenicke will be fired at least a year too late just like Yost was fired at least a year too late. I'm not sure about cleaning house on the roster though. Healthy you would have Braun, Gomez and Aoki in OF, A-Ram, Segura, Weeks, Hart and Lucroy in IF. That's competitive.
-
Crossed posts somehow with Souptown. Yeah, what he said.
-
This is the game where it's clear that Roenicke has given up on trying to win any particular game and is focusing on what he thinks is the longer view. Last year it was the Phillies series where he pulled Grienke early, kept throwing Parra in every time there was a lefty etc. This year it's having Weeks swing 3-0 with 1st and 2d 0 out to, I guess, get his confidence up or something. Last year the games ended up counting late. I doubt they will this year, but still.

Well except that all 3 runs are unearned. Gorzo has 13 IP (I think) and a 0.00 ERA in 2 starts and he's 0-2.

All Star Game 2013: Segura and Gomez selected
sdcheezhd replied to Surhoff5's topic in Milwaukee Brewers Talk
So we want Freeman to win the vote for the last slot right? Desmond competes with Segura, Pence and Puig compete with GoGo and Gonzalez is telling all the Dodger fans to vote for Puig. Go Freddie. -
Big sarcastic cheer for the easy 5-3.
-
I was wondering why he pulled Gorzo who had pitched well and gave up only a weakly-hit single but nobody seemed to complain at the time. I was OK with A-Ram and Luc coming up as the tying run in the 9th.
-
I'm trying to remember the last time Gomez got a hit bunting.
-
My friends Bob and Lori made the trip from Des Moines to DC for the 4th and their first visit to Nationals Park. The game wasn't a lot of fun yesterday and today wasn't that promising on paper so I am particularly glad for them (and nice for my brother and nephew too).

The syndicated NY Times crossword puzzle (from May 23) 15D - Baseball manager Ned. Bad vibes all around today.

Not the top of my head, saw somewhere it was Sept 16 and 18 last year v. Mets and Pirates. Mlb.com is all but ignoring the 300th save from K-Rod, but ESPN features it.
-
Schaefer and Hand with good games.
-
Why leave Gonzalez in to face a switch-hitter?
-
I think Uecker has lost patients with Francisco has well. Talking about how he chases bad low and away pitches over and over and over again. He did finally get the SF. I don't know that taking a hack on a batter's count with 2 outs and the bases loaded is a bad thing though.
-
Two straight games where every spot in the lineup had a hit but Francisco's.
-
They are probably resting Braun for the rest of the day like they did last Sunday when it got to 7-0.
