  1. Sundevil -- we'll be in 115 on Sat. night, past 1B towards the visiting bullpen. I'll look out for you.
  2. A year or so ago my daughter was wearing her Sexson Mariners jersey when we went out to eat and the waitress asked about it. Turned out she was the Cirillos nanny for years in Seattle. If he were a jerk she'd know. Said he was the nicest guy in the world.
  3. You're welcome Peavey but I screwed up -- forgot they swept the Cubs after getting swept by the Pirates in July 2004 so the last time was actually 44-38 on 7/8/04 before a loss to the Reds. AP made the same mistake in the wire story.
  4. Quote: -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Seriously, anyone know when the last time the Brewers were 6 over .500 was? Brewers were 41-35 on 7/2/04. The day before they were 41-34. Last time they were 8 over was in early 1998, 15-7, I think, and 15-6 the day before. Last time they were 10 up was 1992.
  5. Wish they'd had a little bit more Brewer love on BBTN after showing the clips but 5 minutes talking about how much and why Zambrano sucks was sweet enough. Also caps a 5-5 day for the organization.
  6. I demand a birthday victory too. My birthday's in mid-October.
  7. Besides Pattin, Caldwell and August there was Jim Slaton in 1976 - the only shutout.
  8. Has there ever been an opening day complete game by a Brewer ? Last one was Don August in 1989, but he lost 2-1 and only went 8.
  9. Spurling. Prince took a half swing at Ball 4 and got tossed when they said he went around.
  10. Top 5TH B:0 S:0 O:2 Pedro Liriano flies out, right fielder Kevin Mench to first baseman Mike Rivera. Anyone listening to the game? How did this play happen, or is it another Gameday preseason error? Lines out is probably better. Mench was playing shallow for the pitcher, it was lined at him on a hop, he came up throwing and got him by half a step.
  11. For those who have the audio working: is Gameday accurate on Sheet's pitch count? 15 pitches and 12 batters faced? They don't really have it fully working in the spring, so every walk is 4 balls, every K is 3 strikes and every ball hit in play is a strike on a 0-0 count. They usually go 1/2 inning by 1/2 inning not every batter like today.
  12. Sanchez strikes out the side. Kid is looking pretty good.
  13. Hart getting picked off wins the game, no way Jenkins hits one down 0-2.
  14. According to Ueck, Sheets has retired the last 32 Pirates he's faced.
  15. Well now it's 4-2. mlb originally had Bay scoring on Paulino's double and then fixed it. ESPN probably has him scoring twice.
  16. Sit down Jeff. Nice to hear him booed.
  17. Jeff Kent, one of the biggest jerks in the league and probable racist. What a surprise that he's mixing it up with Prince. Let's put Maddux away here.
  18. Looks like Nashville will clinch at least. May be worth checking that one out.
  19. TMJ stream on mlb.com is working fine for me.
  20. Final score on 7/6/04, MIL 4 CHC 2, middle game of a 3 game sweep that put the Brewers at 44-38.
  21. Yeah hawing that is what I was thinking. He'll only pitch well when it doesn't count for us.
  22. And he'll probably do great in the All-Star game, just like Kolb after he blew one to the Reds just before the game.
  23. I guess you've got to bring Cappy back out, no other good option.
