  1. Cards with a chance to get back in it but Fowler, Gyorko and Yadi all fail with 2 RISPs so still 8-3.
  2. http://deadspin.com/the-brewers-hit-two-clutch-dingers-to-stay-in-the-thick-1818693549
  3. My top 5 are already on here but I'll give a shout out to 2 I was at: the K-Rod blown save in San Diego at the end of August 2014 (2 days after the Brewers won a Kyle Lohse start 10-1) and the 5th game of the 1981 playoffs - we had great seats for free since no one thought the game would be played and the 2 wins before that were great but still.
  4. There we go!
  5. 78-79 was fun. 90+ win seasons after 8 years of losing. Signing Hisle (even though he had only 1 year before getting hurt) and beating Guidry. 81 and 82 were probably the best - 1st playoffs and 1st and only pennant. I was in NY so got to see and hear them a fair amount.
  6. Inning was over but the Reds challenged and won and then got 5. Cards would have stolen 5 runs without replay.
  7. Nice try but no Ha! Knew he had 1 and took a flyer on the 2d.
  8. Ueck: "If that's not a strike I'm an underground aviator." Very sporting of us to give it right back so it's 2 out guy on 2d anyway.
  9. 538 now has the Brewers' playoff odds equal to the Rox - 39%
  10. That's true, they now don't match LaRussa and Carpenter and the rest of that ugly crowd. But it's good to see the other Carpenter upholding the tradition. And don't forget the 2008 Cards with all their whining about untuckem.
  11. Unable to watch the game at work...what did he do? After Villar stole 3d he pushed Villar's hand off the bag and got the out call. Cheated and got away with it. Sad.
  12. Yeah I had my issues with the radio guy on Friday - hope the baseball gods reward them with a series loss.
  13. Yes! Finishing ahead of the Cards is goal #1. Playoffs is goal #2. And not just because I have a bet on it.
  14. The Dodgers radio guy - Rick Monday I guess? - who even cares - went on and on during the 7th and 8th about how many games over 500 the Dodgers were, their record at home, their record in one run games, their record in extra innings, etc etc, which is fine, they are having an historic season. Then after the Brewers go out in the 8th he says "and the Brewers are DOA and about to be RIP." In the top of the 9th he says "and Kenley Jensen comes in to clean up small details." I can't think of Vin Scully doing that. They miss him.
  15. This is at least the 3d - 2 11-10 Ls (one a choke to the Nats and this one) and a 14-7 W. The first one was worth 10K since the guy had the card or whatever. Ueck spent a couple innings trying to get the guy to call in and he never did and Ueck started giving him a hard time about it. Can't remember the name. 2 Ds I think. About the funniest Ueck has ever been.
  16. 2 days in a row - now they won't cancel the sponsorship!
  17. Carpenter is tied for the lead in HRs for the Cardinals and has batted leadoff for a stretch this year and a lot in the last couple of years.
  18. We've won that many?!? Doesn't feel like it. I thought it was like 4-44 but when the AL started the string the Brewers were still in the league for the next 10 years or so.
