Postgame.....TH "Was Hernandez that good....I mean he only had 80 pitches through 8 innings?" RR "Well the patient teams can wait him out, get some walks and drive his pitch count up....but that's not us" So basically the manager and hitting coach can have no impact on getting hitters to improve their approach at the plate.......good to know....
Coming off the last road trip I was thinking "ok we can get well against a really bad Phillies team that can't score".....oh how wrong I was....this has just been a pathetic display
All I can say is wow after listening to that press conference...... "Baserunning mistakes are part of the game....you don't like it but it happens" Now that is leadership!
Somebody alert Melvin..... Jeff Hem @JeffHemPBP · 13m 1-2-3 4th for Jimmy Nelson. Consecutive scoreless IP streak now at 19, longest by a @nashvillesounds this season. Have you heard? He's good.
I was kind of hoping they might give Hermida a shot.......842 ops inlcuding 10 hrs.....probably wanted Shafer because he can play center.....not sure if Hermida can?
Jeff Hem @JeffHemPBP 38m More Jimmy Nelson tonight...well, you know the drill. Final line: 6.2ip, 0r, 4h, 1bb, 5k (91/61). @nashvillesounds lead, 4-0, mid-7th. #Brewers
The Brewers are the best team in baseball and will get even better when they call up Jeffress. No team worries me. This division in my eyes is already the Brewers. I hope the Reds keep the cards from the playoffs. I'd rather play the Reds, but neither can beat the Brewers in a best of 5 or 7. The Reds have already beaten the Brewers 5 out of 7...to suggest they couldn't win a playoff series against us is just silly. Cueto, Latos, Simon/Bailey/Leake will be very tough for the brewers to beat. I would also suggest you consider how the Brewers would fare against the Dodgers(Kershaw, Greinke, etc) before proclaming them the best team in baseball. Should we make the playoffs(likely) we will be an underdog in either of those series IMO.
