  1. Pat Burrell making darn sure the Phillies don't ground into a 4th double play.
  2. To follow up, last year the Brewers were 14th in MLB in team WHIP (1.40) and 26th in MLB in double plays turned (143).
  3. The Brewers are 16th in MLB in team WHIP (1.40) and 16th in MLB in double plays turned (20).
  4. The only place you can do it legally is at mlb.com, Gameday Audio is like $15 for the year.
  5. Do not post links to broadcasts not licensed by MLB.
  6. Trenni has an agreeable ensemble on.
  7. Jayson Werth needs to button up. You're not in Philly, kojack.
  8. Because this is where the Russ Branyan thread is. Thanks.
  9. I think Mota is a better pitcher than his recent history suggests him to be. That said, Gagne is still better than him.
  10. End, Gwynn was called up. Edit: Cameron will be taking his spot in AAA now until his debut with the Brewers on the 29th.
  11. Is that supposed to be a compliment?
  12. Since their last World Series win.
  13. If you want to talk Russ Branyan, this is the thread to do it in. Have at it! (Respectfully.)
  14. I third that. They've just started re-airing "A Cook's Tour" on Food Network and I'm going to start DVRing them. The first one I saw again was Bourdain in London and his last visit was to Gordon Ramsey's restaurant (his one at the time). Talk about contrasting personalities. They're both high entertainment though. "Kitchen Nightmares" on BBC is so much better than the version on Fox. I just wish they'd come out with more and stop with the "revisiting." Fox wants to make Ramsey out like a prick, but the BBC paints him as certainly as high intensity but never solely that. He's much more laid back on BBC shows ("Boiling Point" is a fun, tho sorta frivolous show).
  15. Man, that guy brings back some great memories of a darker time in the Brewers' minor league system.
  16. Krivsky made some strange trades early in his tenure, but overall I thought he did a respectable job. They have good young pitching and a dangerous lineup, which will get even more dangerous once they call up Jay Bruce.
  17. I read on another site that Weeks is next to go, any truth to this? Probably not, no. Why would they trade Weeks? This Butler kid is 0-2 in single A, with a near 7 era. I dont know about this one. It's a good thing baseball players aren't judged on three A-ball starts.
  18. My prediction is that Bill Hall will get on base five times, score the winning run, and be traded to the Nationals for a pitching prospect.
  19. Given that Gross played, I'm sure the Rays didn't sign off on it until after the game so they could make sure he didn't get hurt. The Brewers also may have wanted to wait until after the 1:00 pm AAA game was over so they could make sure Gwynn didn't get hurt either. The Cardinal fans are already paranoid over their tenuous hold on second place. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  20. I had to read this three times before I realized what was going on. Left... back... head? Ball. Soccer bugs me, I think in a lot of the same ways that people are bugged by baseball. No disrespect to the game meant. Go Glastonbury or something. And another thing... I washed my hair an hour ago and it's still not dry. I think this means I need my twice-yearly haircut. Hair cuts bug me. I usually tip more when they talk to me less.
  21. This reminds of something from last year, but I can't put my finger on it...
  22. If Hart or Braun were to go down, I have no doubt their first move right now would be to have a Kapler/Gwynn or Kapler/Iribarren platoon. I also tend to think Brad Nelson might be given a shot before they reach all the way back to AA and start LaPorta's arby clock before they have to. I was perusing through the Power 50 a few minutes ago and to me, Josh Butler is a top 10 prospect in this system, or at least pretty close to it. I know that's small solace for Gabe Gross fans, but I'm just geeked to have Butler joining Periard in the Brevard rotation. While Gross was a nice guy to have around, I just can't see how he'd make any sort of dramatic difference in how the Brewers finish the season. If Hart or Braun get hurt, we're screwed no matter who else is on the bench.
