  1. I don't want to speculate on the circumstances... I do want to say he was a very good actor, I always enjoyed watching him. He was phenomenal in Brokeback Mountain and Ned Kelly. He even made The Brothers Grimm watchable. Too bad. Also strange to me as I was going to go watch I'm Not There tonight. Best of wishes to his family, especially his child.
  2. A bit ago I launched a laundry basket into a wall in my room. I have to buy a painting to cover it now.
  3. Oh, that beer was had quite some time ago, shortly after a few other beers. *hiccup* The upside to looking for a new job is that you can have some beers, listen to some music and play NHL '99 all the live-long day.
  4. A few thoughts from my temporarily jobless self: -I made split pea burgers last night for the first time (thanks for the recipe, Alton Brown). They were good and quite filling. The greenish hue bothered me. Note to self: use brown food coloring next time. -The second version of "Forever Young" on Planet Waves is terrible compared to the first. Especially since they are right next to each other. Shame on you, Bob Dylan. -The power has flickered a few times during the composition of this post. It's cold outside. I hope nothing about this situation changes for the worse. -I'm going to Seattle next week. Yay. -A buddy of mine just got back from Kenya. He was visiting his parents, whom are missionaries in the region. It was a hell of a time to visit Kenya. He brought back cigarettes. -I don't have anything particular to do for the rest of the day. Time for a beer.
  5. If I weren't a vegan, yes. Hah. IKEA does have an amazing breakfast special, tho. I almost bought an $80 painting print and a $90 TV stand for my house, but I held off. Maybe next week. Edit: It should be noted that the "meat" in IKEA meatballs should probably be sold under some sort of IKEA-esque moniker, like MEET.
  6. I went to IKEA today. I only spent $30 - I feel that's a win for me.
  7. The ending of "Stranger Than Fiction" completely ruined the beautiful hour and forty minutes that preceded it. I kept telling myself it wasn't going to happen... and then it did. No movie could be *that* obvious, could it? Yes, yes it could.
  8. The only two guys we have that we can't fit anywhere are Vargas and McClung. I'd expect Vargas to be traded before long, and McClung to be traded at the end of camp barring injury. Outside of those guys, the 12-man staff I have is: Sheets, Gallardo, Suppan, Villanueva, Capuano, Bush, Torres, Mota, Turnbow, Riske, Shouse and Gagne. That's a really strong pitching staff. Not to mention Pena, Cassidy, Johnson, Choate, Bray and Stetter all in AAA. Plus Dillard, Parra and Jackson plus some. That's a lot of pitching depth. We're scary, folks.
  9. If you want to pay off my other $45K, you're more than welcome. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  10. It was a lump sum. I had a pretty decent year for money.
  11. I had a Google Won't Save You like two months ago, but I was researching it, fell asleep, woke up and then looked at the picture I had downloaded and had no idea. I so would have lost! It was a good one.
  12. I just paid off $30,000 in student loans. *Now I'm buying $500 worth of music.
  13. I just got home... From designated driving. 5:12 a.m. Puh.
  14. My roommate has the tendency to not wake up to his alarm clock right away even though it is turned up loud enough that it puts the fear of God into anyone in the house (besides him of course). Anyway, this morning his alarm happened to go off while the radio station it was tuned to was in the middle of a Nickleback song. The Nickleback song played for at least 2 minutes. This is the worst possible way to be woken up.
  15. I'm presently somewhere after the middle of Steve Reich's "Drumming" and it is one of the most intense musical experiences of my life.
  16. I'm listening to The Current's top 89 albums for 2007, and at #61 is The Good, The Bad & The Queen. That's lot, IMO, but it makes me blissfully happy that they're playing the title track from that album as the song representing it. It's one of my favorite songs from the past few years. It also helps that for the first time in 10 years, I did not celebrate the new year under the influence of anything. I even went to the gym at 7 this morning. Yay! ----- Continued from: viewtopic.php?p=284824#p284824 Original Lead: viewtopic.php?f=67&t=8540
  17. I hear you. My 3.5 liters of Johnny Walker Black are staring me in the face, and that's before the 1.75er of Skyy. Or the wine. Or other things. Yay screwdrivers!
  18. But are you referring to the proper beer pong, or the oft-misnamed Beirut? Beirut is the true thing. Like OPS vs. RBI.
  19. Protestant or Catholic whiskey?
  20. Beirut slaps the backside of beer pong. Beirut is the game of champeens.
  21. And that's how MUSE was born.
  22. How often did you see Kapler's name or Mota's name?
  23. I stated when he was drafted his first test would be at AA. I never said anything beyond that. Basically, I made a really decent, if conservative, assessment on Braun when he was drafted. WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME? http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif
  24. So basically all those guys are remarkably better than Braun at third, and most, if not all, have a chance to put up a .340-.350+ OBP?
