Inman was lucky to last through the 7th inning with the pitch count, especially with 10 K's. Yah, giving him an outside shot and a rookie-league no-hitter should take precidence over his long-term future. Right. He induced more ground balls than flyballs, which I like.

This is the biggest game of the year. http://forum.brewerfan.net/images/smilies/smile.gif

If it makes any difference, Jemile was there with his dad and another family member (I assume) at the Sunday Philly game. He looked good in a Brewers jersey, I must say.

The next .500 mark the Brewers have to shoot for is September 10th. On that day in 1997, a 3-1 loss to the White Sox put them at 72-72, which is the last time they saw .500 that season.

There is almost zero reason to have Ohka pitch the ninth.

who are the cardinal pitchers for our series? Santos vs. Morris Davis vs. Suppan Sheets vs. Mulder

    Ohka missed the bunt sign?

Those were two inning were about as unimpressive as they could possibly have been for the offense. If there's any silver lining, they're getting the ball in the air when they do make contact.

Furthermore, Thatcher and Holmberg should be promoted to WV, and Baker and Murray should be demoted. Actually, Murray should be released, but once Reid Nichols likes a guy...

This whole Brewerfan thing is kind of exciting this year. And there is Brewerfan's motto for the year. This is the best year to be a Milwaukee Brewer fan since at least '92. We have major league talent and a lot of very good minor league performances. There are still things to worry about on the major league side, but isn't it great that we have a wave of prospects, and we still have those guys in AAA and AA about to hit Milwaukee? Wow. Eat it, Twins. If Jack Z. ever leaves I will cry.

The Brewers actually may need some relief pitching tomorrow, and everyone but Helling and DLR are overworked right now. Turnbow, Eveland, Santana, and Lehr may not be able to pitch any more than 2-3 inning between themselves tomorrow, and I wouldn't use Lehr or Santana (and maybe not even Turnbow) at all.

I am going to go do something else for awhile. This sucks.

Don't let 'em do it to you, JJ.

Leaving Benson in to bunt is pretty easy to defend, IMO. Why use a bench player in the 5th inning to put your team up by 1 or even just move the runner over when your pitcher can move the runner over? Made sense to me.

Ugh.....Lehr....stop handing out free bases! That was Lehr's first walk of the season.

    Justin giveth and taketh away.

Davis is not even close. Ucky.

I was fuming after the game, though I settled down and watched some TV, calmed the nerves. Then I saw "The Sports List" on FSN, and Robin Yount was rated the 7th best SS in MLB history. Who was #6? Jeter. I flipped out. I now hate everything.

    You must throw strikes.
