  1. Russ, just curious, is that Minitab you are using to do those projections?
  2. We don't yet have player profiles for Winston Pearson, Justin Spires, or Rolando Pascual.
  3. The Arizona Fall League should be for minor league prospects, not guys who have made it to the bigs for anything more then a cup of coffee. And I concur with this to a large extent. If the Brewers want their young guys with a month+ of MLB experience to play some extra ball, they should set them up with winter league teams. The AFL is for guys like Krynzel or Brad Nelson, or even Nelson Cruz or Ben Hendrickson, guys who are almost there but need to refine their games to stick.
  4. I don't think that an individual's percieved conditioning problems over the course of his rookie big league season (especially a rookie big league season in the bullpen) can really be construed as "not working hard." It is apparent that Eveland ran out of gas at the end of the year, but he pitched a lot this year, and he pitched in many pressure-packed situations on a pretty decent big league team. He was very likely mentally fatigued at the end of the season, and I'd guess much more mentally fatigued than physically fatigued. I'm not disputing that it is possible he may need to lose a few pounds, but to correlate that with "not working hard" is at best, a stretch. And I still have no idea where he's coming from with Hardy. Al is the first person I've heard that has insinuated that JJ is of weak mental fortitude.
  5. I must admit, I'm disappointed in how little Hardy and Eveland seem to care about working hard to improve their game. What on earth are you talking about? Unfounded comments have just reached new depths.
  6. Gamble and Rivera down, Saenz, Morris, Scarborough and Anderson to go.
  7. I am going to burn a Nick McLouth jersey at some point this offseason.
  8. Hey, better having a bad taste in your mouth about .500 than anything else the team has done the past 12 years. Thanks, Brewers, and here's to 85-90 wins next year
  9. Doug Melvin is my hero. Go Team Canada.
  10. At the bar I frequent, when ordering a Kamikaze, the bartender (an older guy, and a good bartender) will ask you, "What flavor do you want it?" I don't really know what is supposed to go in it, but it tastes fruity. I'm a martini man and a beer man. Usually.
  11. We're facing a struggling pitcher, so the chances of the Crew winning just took a slide. If we can make Luke Hudson look good every time he throws against us, we can make Oliver Perez look good. I'll say the Brewers win, but against the Pirates' bullpen.
  12. My least favorite shot is the Kamikaze - I have no idea what goes into it, but all you taste is peach schnapps or apple schnapps, and it tastes like... peaches or apples. Not shot worthy.
  13. Rivera was one of the five guys (six, counting Saenz) that I hoped we'd resign, so that's one tick off of the list. I'm not sure how much more you want out of a AAA catcher, because he's more than fine with me.
  14. Who would win in a fight, my Hungarian guy, my Russian guy, or my dirt-biking guy? And would the Russian guy go to a ZZ Top concert afterwards? Discuss.
  15. Here's to a win and .506. Edit: Google Image Search the number 506 at your own risk. Edit 2: This is the best I could come up with: http://portal.pmmf.hu/portal/images/template/photogallery/gepeszszaknap2/506.jpg Edit 3: Or maybe this guy: http://www.sibcol.com/images/card%20506.jpg Edit 4: There we go: http://www.aztecraceway.com/images/8-1-04/506.jpg
  16. Bennett was shut down with a sore shoulder, IIRC. You know who is on the 40-man, but hasn't been called up? Sarfate.
  17. Not so fast. You'll be to blame for this too now, Wiggum.
  18. I'm going to voice my displeasure of the save rule to Selig. He'll wish that section of the rule book never existed!
  19. I think maybe it has something to do with runners on base, plus the guy at the plate and on deck relative to the number of runs behind. I dunno.
  20. Nothing is easy with this team.
