  1. Can't complain about what Wolfe did for the Brewers this year. Almost 50 IP, and 1 HR allowed. He's a darkhorse for a 40-man spot if he does well in the AFL. Minnesota's loss is our gain.
  2. Didn't Adams already attend the AFL once? I said Bennett because he missed a few weeks in the season, and because the Brewers seem to like him more than Adams. As long as they like him more, might as well give him an additional building block to work off of before his return to MLB, assuming he doesn't get recalled in the interim. I wouldn't send Adams because he needs a confidence boost, not the opportunity to get fed to the wolves. With his AAA record thus year, I'd tell him to take the offseason off and come back prepared to make a bid at a bullpen spot in the spring. All that said, I still say Habel over Wolfe.
  3. I like Josh Habel more than Wolfe. I'd have gone with him or Bennett.
  4. Craig Biggio, lone member of the 2700/250/400/600/1600/1000 club.
  5. Overbay looks a bit like Jenkins with that full goatee.
  6. The goal of the "SABR" Forum is that people would go there first, but if you want it left here for a few days, it'll be left here for a few days.
  7. Russ, excellent piece, but would it be OK if I moved it to the Stat Analysis Forum, or did you intend for it to be here?
  8. Nashville 5, Round Rock 3, 8th inning Mike Rivera with a 3-run jack, and Brad Nelson and Vinny Rottino add solo shots to pace Nashville over Round Rock in the late innings. Omaha is currently tied with Oklahoma in the 5th.
  9. Mark Sweeney Sweeney has always been a solid player. He was injured for most of his time with the Brewers, so I won't hold that against him.
  10. 9 runs on 6 hits... I heart walks.
  11. Basically, if you want to talk smack to each other during the game, go to the chat room. The IGT is for discussion about the game, not for bickering.
  12. I moved this to the Issues Forum, because it belongs here and whatnot.
  13. The smiley face was meant to show lighthearted ribbing.... I replied to it before the smiley face was there. I think my point stands. Sorry to have to be the "goon" of the moderating bunch, but that's the way it is.
  14. Oh, get over yourself, Mr. Sensitive. That's not good. Someone will be talking to you in a bit. Hope you enjoy your banning. That's not great, either. Banning is at the mod's discretion. Please don't exacerbate the situation.
  15. I await in unguarded anticipation for the continuation of the Log5 equation into predicting a series of games. Don't leave us hanging, Russ, we need your formulas.
  16. As mentioned in this thread in the Major League forum: p092.ezboard.com/fbrewers...9378.topic RHP Dennis Sarfate has been promoted to AAA Nashville.
  17. First game of the series, we lose Ben Sheets. Second game of the series, we lose the rest of our pitchers. Third game of the series, perfect game for Capuano?
  18. Hey, one good thing to say about this game: Fielder and Hart pinch-batting ahead of Roto-Rooter.
  19. But on a team that struggles like mad to score runs and get hits with runners in scoring position, why would you take the bat out of the hand of the guy that has the highest average on the team? Not to belabor the point, but you have the best bunter on the team hitting against a guy who doesn't give up many runs with 2 non-above average runners on the basepaths. Would I rather see Clark try to get a hit or Weeks try to hit a flyball? I'll go with Weeks on that one. Does it matter now? No, thanks to the odd bullpen handling (yes, Lehr does make a difference), but to me, that's as clear a bunting situation as it gets, textbook.
  20. 99% of the time people here would be screaming at Yost for having Brady showing bunt in the first place. But, down by a run with one of the better sacrificers on the team at the plate and runners on first and second, how do you not bunt? As soon as I saw Clark squaring around, I lit out on a pretty string of expletives. The popout that followed didn't help.
  21. As I was saying: a) The final score will be 8-7 Brewers. They need 4. b) Their bullpen is in big trouble right now without Lehr. Ohka is warming up. Methinks Lehr is not back at the park.
  22. Yep, it was Ned's fault Brady swung at a 2-0 pitch at his shoulders Well, it was Ned who called the bunt off. If Brady still has the bunt on, it is ball three. Not that Brady had any business swinging at that, but Yost is very much to blame for that.
  23. It is one thing to not be able to throw a few strikes over a 5-6 inning outing, but Vic needed to throw about 5-6 more than he did in one inning tonight, and that's just not getting it done. If he doesn't pick it up real soon, there's no way the Brewers keep him on the 40-man this offseason. Right now his greatest value to the team is as a reliever and he's 0-1 since being given that job. Anyone else a little worried, especially since Lehr might not make it to the park in time?
  24. Helling hasn't looked good, only lucky. Lots of pitches per batter, and he's gotten a bunch of very hard-hit outs. Jenkins just missed that "double" - he short-armed the ball and missed it by about a foot when he could have easily caught it. Entertaining game so far. Crowd is a little quiet. Edit: And it looks like Yost agrees with me about Helling. He hasn't been able to find the strike zone all night. Let's see how Santos handles it for 1-2 innings. I'll be interested to see what his velocity is like. This also means that Santos won't start in place of Sheets next time around, or so it seems.
