    Anyone flipped over to the Cubbies game today? What is that blue stuff all over their faces? Pie and Soriano have it on for sure. Does it have a use?

    I doubt Bernie will have any interest in Milwaukee, but he does have a connection to Melvin. Melvin was one of the Yankee scouts responsible for signing Bernie when he was 16. So who knows? Melvin gave him his first shot it baseball, maybe Bernie would give him the benefit of the doubt and give Milwaukee a chance.

    I thought it was funny. Lee threw the first punch against Young, who is a stick. Once Young swung back, Lee chickened out. If you watch, instead of going after Young further, he backs off. Then, takes an out-of-the way rout back at Young behind Pinella. I'm guessing both Lee and Young get pretty lenghty suspensions.

    Hey BillyHallFan, Do you know of the other dates he's going to be signing? I know he's going to be in Madison on Aug 3, but I have Brewers tickets for that day already. I think the only other Northwoods league team in Wisconsin is LaCrosse, so besides Madison I'm guessing that's my last chance.

    Billyhallfan, we must have been standing side by side down there getting Gwynn. It was ridiculous. My friend and I were in the front and I almost ended up on the field. My friend is short and she was getting bombarded, and finally Tony told everyone to back off. I've been down there many times to get autographs, but tonight was by far the worst experience ever. Then what bothers me is that most people don't even say "Thank you." They expect the player to sign, and get mad when he doesn't. But when he does, they don't even give a simple thanks.

    Joe is going to be at Dick's Sporting goods on the east side of Madison today from 3-5. I think I'm gonna get there at 2, but I'm sure there'll be a looong line by that time already.

    I saw Spurling in AZ pitch 2 times, and he was horrible both times. I've seen him pitch now, what?, 3 times during the regular season... and he has been garbage. Time to start the revolving door to AAA again?

    I'm not trying to excuse the bullpen... but look at all the posts, and I don't think anyone up until me mentioned anything about the defense. It was all "Wise is terrible" and "Our bullpen sucks." And I come on and say that if the defense picks up the pitcher... he could very well have gotten out of that jam. And not to mention our offense has been pretty bad latelly. We've had some good pitching lately. Does anyone remember yesterday's game where the pen came in and pitched 6 stellar innings? Wise has thrown 12 pitches in the last week. Think that has anything to do with his troubles?

    Wise gave up TWO hits... and neither of them left the infield!! Whoo hooo... he's getting CRUSHED. Get him out of here! He's terrible . And if Koskie makes a play on a bunt... Ordonez never would have seen Capellan.

    Last I checked... that error didn't score a run. If Koskie makes that play, out #1. Then the line-out to Weeks, out #2. Then a walk. Then a strike out, out #3. No runs score!! So yes... it was partially his fault... but if the defense picks him up, no runs score. Things could have played out differently had they had a runner on first, but they probably still would have bunted... so it could have happened.

    So it's the bullpen's fault that there were 2 errors in the inning? It's the bullpen's fault that Koskie didn't make a play on a sacrifice bunt that would have been a third out not allowing Ordonez to see the plate? Wow... I didn't realize they controlled what other players on the diamond did!!

    Koskie needs to pick up the plow! I think my dad could have made it to third on that hit!!

    How are the Reds second in the league in errors with this scorer? There have been 3 plays in this series that were ruled hits that should have been errors.

    With all the Jenkins conversation going on, I'd just like to point out that on MilwaukeeBrewers.com Adam McCalvy answered questions from his mailbag today, and someone asked a question about trading Jenkins. One part I found interesting is McCalvy hints that Yost is indeed considering platooning Hart and Jenkins Here's the link to that page:LINK
