  1. I'll be cheering hard for the Cards to sweep this weekend. I'll also be cheering hard for the Mets to take 2 of 3 from the Marlins. Then next week, I'll be cheering for the Marlins to take 3 of 4 from the Cards. That would mean both the Marlins and Cards would go 4-3 in that time, with the Mets probably going 5-2. That HOPEFULLY gives us a 2-4 game lead on those 3 teams... depending on what happens with the games tonight and tomorrow.
  2. Oh, my bad. I read it as meaning he was accusing us of lying about them being stuck in customs, just so Matt could scam everyone who paid for one. Sorry Comptixking for misreading your post.
  3. I don't know what this is supposed to mean? I don't know Matt. I don't know who his "sources" are. I don't know how he found out about the bobbleheads in Helena. I had initially thought about buying one from him in fact. But I found another person that lives in Helena, and goes to many games to get me one. That person knew before the game that the bobbles were stuck in customs, and informed me of this. And now Matt is hearing the same thing. I challenge you to find an actual picture of one on eBay. There are a couple out there for sale, but there is no picture of it. I don't know if I am reading your post the wrong, or taking it a different way. But it sounds to me that you are accusing Matt, and thus me for first mentioning that they were stuck in customs, of ripping people off and lying to everyone. That is totally ridiculous. "Those who are big in the hobby can make the connection," huh? Well, you must not be in it at all because I'd sure trust a couple of people on this website, rather than someone on eBay who has no picture of the bobblehead they claim was given out. Sorry for the rant. It just ticks me off when someone accuses me of lying when they have no factual base to it. EDIT: Here's another article about them being delayed in customs.
  4. I'll chime in on Weeks. Yost and the management always says he needs to slow down and relax. So why in the world do they have him standing at the plate violently swinging his bat around, with his front foot bouncing around? It just seems to me that he has too much going on in his swing. If I remember correctly, he (or the team) put that bat waggle into his swing just before his first full year with the Brewers. If that's the case, why did they go away from what he was successful with in college and the minor leagues? I would hate it if the Brewers decided to get rid of Weeks in the offseason and he was sent to a team that changed his stance/approach at the plate, causing him to improve dramatically. But I would also hate it if the Brewers retained him, and they didn't try something different with that. To me, relaxing is not flailing your bat around and moving your legs.
  5. Mattsr0625- You seem to know more than anyone about this bobblehead. My contact in Helena said that the bobbles are stuck in customs, and vouchers were given out tonight. Do you know if this is true?
  6. Not a fan either. They do need someone swinging the bat well batting behind Fielder, but why not go back to the ol' Braun 4th, Fielder 3rd?
  7. I don't know what he'd cost, but what about a guy like David DeJesus? He's a left handed hitter who can play all 3 OF positions, and lead off. I don't know how him and Cam would co-exist though. But I just think getting a guy like DeJesus would help this team tremendously by adding a lefty bat, being able to move Weeks down in the order, and adding a guy with a .360ish obp.
  8. Ha... I'm not exactly sure why, but I just grew to like him when he came into the NBA. The Clippers were just exciting back then... and I grew attached to Miles because he was my age and I liked his game. But now he's a jerk and a bum... and probably won't play in the NBA again... But I still have to show my allegiances. I get made fun of by my friends a lot because all my messengers/usernames/email addresses have something to do with Miles.
  9. They showed a stat on TBS on Sunday while the Cubs were playing. Of the Cubs 53 home games, the wind has only been blowing out for 13 of them, while it was blowing in for something like 22. All the others were cross winds. They mentioned that was much less than normal at this point in the season.
  10. Sveum should have tagged Manny that inning on Durham's fly ball to center. The chances the Cubs throw the ball away are better than the Brewers getting a hit with RISP!! And that's only partly joking!!
  11. I looked on GameDay... and according to my estimation, Dempster threw 7 pitches in the strike zone that inning, and 3 of them were to Durham.
  12. 642 is now 669. I don't know if it's permanent, but it is tonight.
  13. Not just that, we're the worst team in baseball at turning a bunt into an out. Trying to get too fancy and not having Hall charge in the 5th is what killed the Brewers today. We're up 2 at the time, runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs and the pitcher coming up. Yost puts on the play where Hall stays put in hopes the pitcher can cover the third base side and get an out at third. It backfires, turns into bases loaded with no outs... and thus turns a 3 run inning into a 7... and a tie game into an 8-4 deficit. Take an out when it's given to you!!
  14. To get to 95-97 wins, they are going to need to play better than .500 on the road. To get there, they need to win 35-37 of their last 58 games, or 60-64% of their games. If they go 14-13 on the road, they would need to go 21-10 at home to get to 95 wins.
  15. Wow. The Braves hung a 9 spot so far in the 4th against Hamel and the Phils.
  16. Wow... that sucked. We do have a backup catcher!! Kendall batting there makes no sense.
  17. Doesn't Ryne Sandberg coach Peoria? They showed the 2 managers arguing, and I'm pretty sure he wasn't one of them.
  18. MLBtraderumors.com says Estrada was DFA'd this morning. Poor Johnny!!
  19. I agree with both sides of this. Part of Anderson's job is to inform the watchers of what is happening. I know I'd be ticked if I turned on a Brewers game late, and didn't realize a pitcher had a no-hitter going. But the way Anderson does it is just wrong. He and Bill always joke about them talking in the booth doesn't have any effect on the game. And then he goes out of his way to try to prove that point. He jokes about it and, like was said earlier, giggles like a girl while doing it. It could easily be taken care of both ways if at the end of the inning he said something like "and the _____ go down in order again. Through __ innings, the ______ have no runs on no hits and no errors," saying it nonchalantly while still informing the viewers. I'll agree with the "Anderson is a knob" comment. I frankly cannot stand the guy. It seems like every game he makes at least one really stupid comment that just makes me say "What?!" He also must think that nobody watches the Brewers broadcast more than once. I think he told us that Ludwick was an all-star about 30 times in that series. He also tells us that pretty much every shortstop is "one of the best in the league." In my opinion, he would be a good guy to listen to if you watch the games once in a while. But, at least for me, he's so repetitive that you can pretty much guess what he's going to say from game to game.

  25. Does anyone by chance have an extra nesting doll set (Given away in '06, I believe) where Weeks is the biggest doll? I have the other 3, and would like to complete the set. If so, send me a message with how much you would want for it. Thanks a lot!
